It's come to that time of the year again, well a bit later, but you know what they say... Time to unleash the beast once more yet a different one it is. Still following the same thread: moving forwards whilst looking backwards, continuing the explorations and the excavations to and from Knowhere. Unexpected blends and mash-ups which will hopefully give birth to new ideas for some, inspirations for others. Well, they have for us as we can now turn this page and move on... As you might've guessed by now, this message can be seen as an announcement: a new episode, airing soon on Good Morning Tapes. Midnight In The Gloop mix from one third of Noods radio residents and party group Escalator To Nowhere, who we previously hosted for 056 with a killer mix from Tim. For this two hour session, Gav (Ongo Gablogian) recreates the vibe of a special 6 hour set he played at the Umbilical Chords ambient sleepover tent at Come Bye Festival in the Welsh countryside last year. We're along for the ride this weekend and in the tent 4-8am on Saturday, if you happen to be attending... reach for the lazers.

Marguerite Records invites Macadam Mambo with Sacha Mambo & Poperttelli - 04 Octobre 2024

The latest entry to the Phase Group Mix comes to us from West Yorkshire in the form of a psychedelic journey  courtesy of Leeds' Narr Radio founder and Space Ritual boss Slacky. 

Slacky is a key player in the Leeds underground music scene, sharing excellent sounds by the likes of Zmatsutsi, Kalidasa, Konsistent, Andy Rantzen, Tross and Eva Geist & Chikiss amongst others through his label Space Ritual as well as seeing over the programming of community hub and online radio station Narr Radio. 

His Phase Group Mix takes us through the kind of psychedelic territory that he has mastered through  regular sets at some of  Northern England's finest spots for underground electronic music such as the Golden Lion in Todmorden, Outlaws Yacht Club and Club Cosmos in Leeds and places like Soup and The Peer Hat in Manchester. Tribal percussions blend with new-age synth atmospheres, droning fuzz guitars and shimmering space echoes. Thanks Calum!

"Tankwart is a DJ, producer, and musician originally from Zurich, currently based in Berlin. In his own productions as well as in the music with the band Dâdalus & Bikarus, he explores a sound that extends the concept of psychedelic music across different eras. He seeks sounds that are raw, trippy, and yet beautiful, blending genres like New Wave, Triphop, Acid, and Kosmische Musik. With one foot on the dancefloor and the other in the intimate setting of the basement, he thrives in spaces where music transcends boundaries and strengthens community."

The call of duty or is it a double date? Either way, this show, also known as Arco Spettro, is a pre-recording made many moons ago for Arpa, my dear friend Barnabe Fillon’s perfume brand. B kindly asked me to record a series of mixes representing each scent from its first sequence. One of the main inspirations for his collection was the documentary Sisters with Transistors, which focuses on female electronic music pioneers. Bearing this in mind, it seemed like a good idea to feature only female composers in these recordings. Her work centers on the exploration of environmental sounds through recording, synthesis, and processing. She creates immersive, multichannel sonic landscapes by employing polyrhythms, complex textures, and micro-sampling techniques. Her compositions blend acoustic, electroacoustic, and electronic elements, integrating field recordings, musical instruments, and unconventional materials.
