Bis zum Ausbruch von Corona und der daraus resultierenden sozialen Isolation, hatte ich mir ehrlicherweise nie Gedanken darüber gemacht, wie wichtig Berührungen für das eigene Seelenwohl sind. Küsse und Streicheleinheiten mit dem Partner, eine liebevolle und herzliche Umarmung mit der Familie und Freunden oder sei es nur ein "banaler" Handschlag zur Begrüßung mit den Arbeitskollegen. 

Das alles war ganz selbstverständlich und gehörte zur Routine des täglichen Lebens. Es war für mich unvorstellbar, dass diese Form der zwischenmenschlichen Kommunikation eines Tages wegfallen könnte. Erst als das Kontaktverbot da war, merkte ich wie wichtig diese Form der sozialen Interaktion ist. 

Zukünftig werde ich dem Ganzen mehr Beachtung schenken und allen die mir lieb und teuer sind, noch mehr zeigen wie wichtig sie mir sind. Denn wer kann heute schon mit Sicherheit sagen, dass dies die letzte soziale Isolation für uns gewesen sein wird.

Fur Coat’s Oddity label starts 2021 with a fresh edition of the acclaimed various artists “Odd Echoes Vol.4”. This instalment showcases some artists that are already known to the label, as well as many new additions to the family.

Fur Coat’s commitment to their label over the last few years has seen the imprint amass a dedicated following and an ever growing list of respected and lauded releases. Utilising their Various Artists compilations, the duo have unearthed some extremely exciting talent in this world and given emerging artists a platform to exhibit their craft.

Diving into the package we are greeted with the melodic and emotional sounds that Oddity has their recognisable stamp. Its clear though that each artist involved has developed their own signature sound and presents something unique to the VA. The first half is formed of well crafted tracks which ease us into the sound. Tracks the build and develop over time and help to kick start out musical exploration.

In true Oddity style the second half of the package leans towards darker and more driving pieces. Casting the listeners mind to the dancefloors which the tracks were meant to be played on. Its a VA formed of 21 original tracks mostly from first timers on the label, that all together solidify the identity of the series and sound of Oddity.

MEODIC SERIES #17 - Corvex

The Mexican DJ, producer and guitarist had premature contact with music at age 10 as a guitarist for multiple school bands and years later in local bands composing original songs and several "covers" of Indie-Rock, he managed to win the admiration of industry figures such as Andrik Palacios himself from "Drims" and Alejandro Cervantes from "Maldita Vecindad", so the stages and the industry are not new for this musician.
At 23 he began the project of ° Corvex ° product of his passion for electronic music, with a clear influence of Deep House, Progressive house, Minimal House and Techno, the sound of ° Corvex ° experiments with the "groove" of the elegant genres and the energy of Techno, creating serious atmospheres with a touch of mystery but never forgetting the essence of "House" ... dance. His genre is not faithful to just one, but his love for the cosmos and fiction have led him to create sets and original themes that try to emulate what would be heard in a "Space Club”. Managing to position himself in national and international tops on the "Mixcloud" page, and having had multiple appearances on the Berlin German radio "Limufy" the name of  ° Corvex ° is increasingly emerging in the industry.

Oddity is an imprint curated and delivered by Fur Coat, focusing on melodic house and techno. Having begun to drive his career and sound in a deeper direction, the realization of his own label has given him the best platform to showcase this.

“Starting my own label is something that I´ve had in mind for a long time. It’s a platform to express myself and have 100% the control on the art concept I want to put on each release, the music I want to show from myself and the artists I share passion for, giving me the ability to invite them onto the label.

The label is giving Fur Coat the opportunity to explore artistically and promises to give a platform to new artists that fit with the sonic direction, whilst also inviting heritage talent onboard for remixing.
