When I was 20, I did my first concert, it was time
it occurred in a village square
there were four cats all friends of mine

It was overly verbose but when I played it people tapped their feet

What to say about Maximilian?
There are so many things to be told: a lifetime of 24 years, full of special moments, joys, fears, sorrows, worries, hopes, dreams, ups, downs, progress, regress, searching, finding, winning, losing, restlessness, peace...
His life had begun with an extremely difficult birth, almost as if the world didn’t want him. They told us he had a life-threatening infection, there were probably holes in his lungs and he obviously had no kidneys. In total, his chances of surviving were exceedingly slim. However, after endless weeks of both despair and hope, he overcame the infection, the diagnosis of holes in his lungs turned out to be totally wrong and they even discovered a kidney.  Just one maybe but at least it worked perfectly.  His journey into existence had begun.
As he grew, so did the never-ending nightmare of problems, challenges and battles, until we began to wonder what could possibly happen next.  Through it all, Max took every opportunity to accumulate extreme experiences - never hiding, always   seeking.  For that, we loved him even more…and even more it broke our hearts that we couldn’t help him find what he was looking for.
But suddenly, as the Summer of 2011 dawned, his troubles seemed to merely fade away.  Was he just arriving in life, coming of age, finding his place in society?  To be honest, we hadn’t the faintest idea.  But it was abundantly clear that, having always been an underdog, that same unwelcoming world had simply started to like and respect him.  He began to realise his many talents, enjoying his job as never before, finally becoming something he had never been - happy.
Fast forward to the gorgeous Summer evening of June 28th, the eve of a 4-week vacation to which he had been looking forward so very much.  A smile on his face, he said he was in the mood to go jogging, something he loved. Sometimes, he ran and ran for ages.  He’d been gone about 3 hours, quite a long time even for him, so Carina called his phone and he answered, cheerfully telling her not to worry and assuring her he’d be home very soon.  Seconds after the call, out of the blue, he collapsed.  A pulmonary embolism.  They told us he died instantly. 
Max, we have no words for what happened, nor for the eternal gratitude we feel for every single second of your life.  We do know we will never stop loving you.”

MAXIMILIAN - CRIPPLE CLUB  (Please Read Description)

This track is my very personal take at the Koan "Hear the Clap of your Hand". My lyrics version (https://soundcloud.com/konrad-spittelberg/the-clap-of-one-hand-pp) might make things clearer. (yes, this is my sneaky strategy to guide you from one song to another :-))

Compositionwise, the track is roughly split into two equal parts. The first part introduces its cinematic theme in the very beginning, taking it thereafter up several times with slightly different accentuations and rhythms which gives it a fresh feel with different highlighted nuances in each repetition. Several interludes contribute to the cinematic feeling. 

The second part, starting @1.53 starts by a more Jazzy version of the main theme. However, from 2.20 onwards, it is very restricted in its harmonies - only two harmonies are used from thereon until the end, C major and C# major. The tension arises purely from the rhythmic changes (such as the shift from 4/4 to 3/4 @3.17 and back), climaxing at the end.

My sister and I cared for mum in her own home for the last ten years, going every day. Mum had been diagnosed with vascular dementia. This song is more about what I could see coming, the bad days, as at this time mum was still more lucid than not. Daphne Gennery passed away peacefully on the 30th of August 2025 at the age of 95, in her own home, in her own bed.....something that she always wanted....no hospital or care home.

Introduction and Lyrics in English:

The ghost forest really does exist on the German Baltic coast. Over the centuries, the beech, oak and ash trees have taken on bizarre shapes due to the Baltic wind and the many storms. To me, they look like bent, crooked figures that seem to be on the run from the recurring storms. 
As almost all the trees have only one crown and are completely bare underneath, they also give me the impression that they have shut themselves off from the fury of the storms and withdrawn into themselves.
In my imagination, the storms stand for the inner ghosts or demons that more or less haunt everyone rarely, sometimes often or always at night.  
For me, the trees in turn symbolize the sometimes panic-like fears and the need to flee when the inner ghosts appear.   
At the same time, in my mind the trees also stand for the great achievement of some people who nevertheless live and continue to live under the impression of permanent demonic inner storms: Admittedly somehow crooked, slanted and crooked; but nevertheless in a marvelous way peculiar, unmistakable and original.
This is the background against which the song ""Ghostly Forest"" was created.

My Endorphins Are Smilin' How 'Bout You? (A Love Song-sorta!)

Hi everyone and welcome back to my channel!  **I NEVER USE A.I. FOR ANY OF MY SONGS!** Just me & Charlie warts and all! I actually play all the instruments & Charlie sings and plays the Harmonica! We're NOT perfect but we're REAL!! 
This is another of my travels down Memory Lane songs and video. I love to reminisce about the good times when I was a kid and life was ours for the taking! Those sweet memories seem to be diminishing now and being replaced with harsh ones about hatred and division and greed. Okay, but let's stay positive and happy for now because this song is one of joy! Charlie sang it perfectly and once again I got my beautiful wife to come down to the studio and join me in the backing vocals as I did on the song "I Still Remember". It has that same early 60's rock & roll groove to it and we had a fabulous time recording it! This is one of my favorites because it's a story song about being teenagers and having fun! As the French always say "La joie de vivre"!

I worked very hard on the video and storyboarded it like some of my other songs to try and relay that carefree ambiance of youth! My wife at the time was feeling much better and had regained her strength and vibrance after all the cancer treatments the year before. Overall 2009 was a good year and it shows in this song! Songster version was a little ‘copla’ about not being able to be with, nor without, a loved person.  As usual, I’ve ‘upgraded’ it, process from which you only get the final result, normally. 

But, following lyrics’ contradictions, I not only serve parts with different levels of (dis)order in heavy rock - flamenco sauce, but raw vs very cooked parts as well, starting with the improvised phone recording of the very first idea I had to develop the song, so please excuse my failures and noises.
