Spring turns into summer, no matter what the world looks like, no matter how dark it looks. With summer comes more light. 
This version of Summertime reflects many emotions, including the joy of what nature gives us in terms of light and new life.
"Summertime" is an aria composed in 1934 by George Gershwin for the 1935 opera Porgy and Bess. The lyrics are by DuBose Heyward, the author of the novel Porgy on which the opera was based, and Ira Gershwin. 
The song is sung several times throughout Porgy and Bess, and in act 3 by Bess, singing to Clara's now-orphaned baby after both parents died in the storm.
Composer and lyricist Stephen Sondheim characterized Heyward's lyrics for "Summertime" as "the best lyrics in the musical theater".

I Wrote Another Love Song ~ For My Mother (Acoustic, 2024)

A bit over a year ago Mark Adair and I were collaborating on a couple of things...this was one of them.
He was having some issues in life, and it seems he deleted himself from SC about 6 months ago...which is a dam shame as he had some lyrics that were working really well with "Thistles into the Nether" that we were working on over a year ago.
This track was his creation, and it always makes me smile to hear it...I hope if he ever gets on SC again and hears it he won't get mad for me posting it...and all his work on "Thistles into the Nether" is gone... : (

OUT OF THE BOX / GIGI VAN STUDDIFORD - You Can Have My Body

Another track that floated unfinished in the digital recorder (and my) memory for a few years, changed several times (only the piano and bass parts remained the same). At first I wanted to do something similar to the opening themes of 1960s TV football programmes; then, by adding and subtracting parts and instruments, it reminded me of Viennese Kaffeehäuser from the early 1900s. Perhaps because of the many overlapping strings: here seem to be many people talking, some even alone. Since this impression does not displease me, I decided to end the long agony of the piece.
