Massive Dub Corporation revient avec un nouvel album sur le label
ODGPROD, après avoir déjà sorti 2 albums, 2 EP et également produit 5
vinyles sur les labels Lion’s Den en Allemagne, Berry’s Records et Welders
Records en France, et Dreadwise Music en Angleterre. Le groupe a su
insuffler une touche de fraîcheur à la vision des musiques Dub, grâce
notamment à leurs influences Jazz et leurs prestations instrumentales, le
tout mixé Dub en live.
À la manière du phénomène optique, cet album rend hommage aux
différentes manières dont le Dub et l’improvisation peuvent modifier
notre perception de la musique. Leurs morceaux s’attachent à mêler
subtilement la puissance et le groove d’une section rythmique typée Dub
anglais à la couleur et la chaleur d’une section cuivre jazzy et soul. Le
mélange puise ses influences dans des groupes tel que Fat Freddy’s
Drop, Groundation, ou encore Hightone.
Cet album est vu comme un voyage à travers les différentes influences
du groupe, du Reggae Groove aux accents Afrobeat en passant par la
Trap aux motifs Ethio Jazz. Il illustre l’envie de ses membres de ne
s’attacher à aucune frontière afin de communiquer de manière
singulière avec leur public.

Une rencontre en soundsystem avec Holy Hamond et 10 ans plus tard nous sortons un titre avec cette talentueuse chanteuse, entre vapor Dub, Jazz, Trap, une invitation à la méditation mélancolique, engagée, énergique et profonde. La soul de la chanteuse se marie parfaitement à la rythmique sombre et aux thèmes de cuivre envoûtants, dans un style unique, celui de Massive Dub Corporation. Les moments de bonheur les plus importants sont offerts gratuitement par la nature qui nous entoure.
