This was called "Cowboys" in my drafts because the original song idea was about a cowboy who could only say, "I Am A Cowboy". I decided to make something a bit more intense, change the theme, and... here we are! 

Also, for whatever reason, my last original release (Turn Your Love Around) seemed to give people the idea that the vocals (which I recorded a year prior) were the only way I'd sing from now on. Which... no. Just. No. Long-time fans know I would never make such a drastic shift in the music I make without at least talking it out with the Oddities.

So, instead of encouraging people to read the description (a sadly fruitless endeavor), I decided that the next release was the time to remind folks that this is still how I always plan to sing— with power, passion, and love of this genre. So here it is!

Like many others, I fell deep (down!) in love with the song featured in Dokun27's "Sad Cat Dance" animation, and decided to make a remix featuring both the song featured in it (In My Mind by Never Dull) and the popularly-aired version (Deep Down by Alok, Ella Eyre, Kenny Dope ft. Never Dull) together as one! I thought it'd be nice to bridge the versions together in one big energetic anthem. So, here's that!

This song means a lot to me.

On the one hand, I've long been trying to find my way back to a more refined version of how I used to sound when working in Logic Pro, but I couldn't quite figure out how I sounded the way I did back then. After long last, I've found that it was orchestral elements— in this case, a string section, french horns, and bells— that made a world of difference. I'm finally able to capture the lush, full sound I once had with the more up-to-date production techniques I've learned in the last few years.

On the other hand, it's been a little while since I've written a more emotionally impactful tune. Meanwhile, in the last month it's been a struggle to step back from work and content creation to take better care of myself, and I felt the whispers of a version of myself I thought I left behind coming back to haunt me. This song was my reminder to myself that I've kept the best of myself with me, and I'm worth maintaining. The way I used to be is no longer here. I'm finally more fully and openly myself, and that will not change.

Please enjoy my last original release of 2022. And here's to a spectacular 2023.

In September of 2023, my Oddities unlocked the option for me to create a song about their nickname for me when I'm at my most blushy, Strawberry Girl. Is this how some of you will remember or realize for the first time that I'm Eurobeat Brony...? 🤭

I have a tradition of remaking some of my original Super Ponybeat tracks for big fandom events.

In 2018 it was Luna 2018, for BronyCon.In 2019 it was Discord 2019, also for BronyCon.…and in 2025, it was Batty 2025, for Neighhem.

Batty is one of those quietly celebrated tracks in my SPB discography— not quite as big as Discord, Luna, or even Diamond Dogs in some cases, but at the time of its release it performed really well and seemed to click with the scene well! I'm still really happy with the riff to this very day.

Originally the third verse was going to be replaced with a dubstep drop, but I instead opted for a reprised bridge, synth solo over the chorus, then back into the chorus one last time. I think it's for the best. I did end up keeping the vocoder sounds from that, though!

This began life as a simple riff sketch, but I noticed something was deeper about it— more powerful. I began to flesh it out, add layers, develop the song into something. It gained a ferocity, less a song to release and more a battle cry, a signal to the world that I still draw breath, I still share my work with the world, I'm still HERE. For this song, I decided to go all out— I reached out to the amazing Ambasa for breathtaking artwork, AryaFord for gorgeous animation, and OrihimeVT for absolutely iconic logo design. I want this song to leave a permanent mark on the Eurobeat world and the others I inhabit, so I sought the best.

As for the video... in so many cases, I've turned to the unparalleled Jusagi and fantastic Emi for animation and editing respectively. But for this song, I wanted to test myself, see what I could create with my own vision and direction for the song. So, I decided to edit this video myself. I hope it may elevate your expectations of what an Odyssey Eurobeat music video can be.

I must also note— while it was unintentional, I recognize that the bridge of this song is very similar to the bridge in DPR Ian's "Peanut Butter & Tears". This was not my plan, though the nature of that song doubtless influenced this production in ways beyond the obvious. If you like Don't Count Me Out, then I highly suggest you listen to DPR Ian's works as well.

Pinkaboo and I decided to join forces to perform together at Ponyville Ciderfest 2025, but we knew just hopping on stage together wasn't quite enough— we wanted to work on a new track together, and Pinkey had the particular idea of expressing our experiences in the spaces we're in where the tenets of our existence (herself as bisexual, myself as transgender) are brushed off, cast aside, or otherwise told we "don't count" as the people we say we are.

The result was a potent dose of energized eurobeat power! Pinkey did a stellar job both recording her lines and singing them on stage, and I hope we get to do it again very, very soon. 💖

I had already updated Discord in 2015, but for BronyCon 2018 I wanted to try making something else for fans of my MLP:FiM work as a token of my gratitude for your support over almost a decade. Over a year ago, I set out to make a very ambitious, sentimental track. It... didn't work very well, and I managed to accomplish this better with plenty of other tracks. But I nevertheless promised to finish the song, mostly because working on other tracks while this one began to fester was starting to weigh on me. So, over a year after we started, here's the song, warts and all.

Discord 2019 comes from an effort to give BronyCon's final year something special to enjoy— as I was the last performer on the last night on the last concert, I had to have something special up my sleeve to bid everyone the fondest farewell. I had other surprises in store, but due to the nature of concerts in general, I had to cut my set short and call the final shot as I saw it. Many of you were there to join me in that joyous moment, and I can't thank you enough for it.

But the reasoning goes beyond any convention— I'm genuinely grateful for the mind-blowing track record the original and its most notable remixes have received in the last eight years. If you had told me nine years ago that not only would I be making original music about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, but that one of those songs would explode across the internet, I'd probably have laughed at the idea. But now, looking back on it… I don't think I could have it any other way.

So, whether you've been around since the earliest days of the show or have no idea what this song has to do with a dragon-ish trickster, I hope you enjoy the newest version of Discord.

I wanted to write something that sort of encompassed the last 10 years— my scrappy, perhaps under-polished but hopefully catchy and melodic style— and sees off the last decade with a firm handshake. I hope you enjoy it.
