Assumption - Spontaneous Prose [Artaphine Premiere]

We are very excited to present Palma's remix of Alberto Tolo's track "Nacre" upcoming on E-HRZN's next EP release due out August 19th.

Alberto has quickly garnered attention as one of the hottest names in fast-paced, minimal techno and his four original tracks on this release exemplify the reasons why. The title track is pure contemporary techno: stripped down, jacking and hypnotic with a rhythmic swing which implores all hips on the dancefloor to shake. “Nacre” and “Workout 6” both take a bit of a deeper dive as Alberto paints a landscape with lush, iridescent synths cast over raw, groovy beats. Last, but certainly not least, “Analog Top” utilizes a latin-esque rhythm and groove ridden by stabbing chords to help carry the weight.

Both remixers utilize a unique and completely different perspective with their takes on the short album to give the release a dynamic range of sounds. Andc keeps the energy high and pushes the groove to maximum levels with his adaption of the title track while Palma delivers a mental, deep, and hypnotic rework of “Nacre” with a breakdown which is nothing short of enrapturing.

PREMIERE: Alberto Tolo - Nacre (Palma Remix) [EHRZN003]

Arkan has previously showcased his productions on the SK_X series while newcomer Oktobr has been making waves on KSR and the label he collaboratively runs with Arkan “Autonome Records”

The pair share the 12” with a split EP. 

Arkan opens it up with a more playful approach for the “Interface” track, an ode to the great K41 club in Kyiv features on the A2 “Kyrylivska 41”. Both tracks here have a very menacing energy that look to take the dance floor into the darkness and really set the mood. 
The tunnelling and sharp “Surrender” track, a more raw sci-fi approach from Oktobr starts the B-Side of the record. Valkyrie with its loopy, driving and hypnotic aesthetic close the EP.

French-based DJ and producer Vekh makes his debut on the Liquid One
series from Schimmer Records. His release Tundra focuses mainly on hypnotic, abstract and groovy techno, but comes with an oldschool-influenced
breakbeat. Schimmer resident Franz Jäger contributed to the release with
his own interpretation of „Nikol“ and a fast-paced classic Franz Jäger remix.
Alarico has made a special remix for the breakbeat „Untitled 2“ that matches
Schimmer in his way.

After putting out a slew of self-released cuts as LKY, Figure finally gets a hold of the rising techno talent that is Nathan Lockwood. Hailing from the UK, this young talent carries an extensive understanding of Britain’s techno lineage, with over a decade of experience in the game both as a promoter and DJ. 
Now fully coming into his own as a producer, LKY’s tracks are informed by the loopy nature of his progenitors, while still retaining some of the core dub influences and yet always keeping a propulsive momentum going.
On his EP for Figure, the title track Symmetry Zone opens with full force, seamlessly intertwining twisting rhythms and searing percussion into a powerful maelstrom of energy. The A2 Chaser is a more reduced take on the formula, rolling out a muscular groove with only a handful of elements, such as precise low-end and some curious synths doing all the work.
On the flip, LKY shows a deeper side to his work, focusing on the hypnotic element that he has become known for. Tracking strikes a wonderful balance between the dubby synth stabs and driving claps, while Formed has an almost Deep House-feel to it, imbued with gorgeous warm ambiance and teasing vocal snips. The digital format of X38 comes with the bonus track Idle Ride, a deeper, more tribal affair, displaying LKY’s versatility as a gifted producer.
