Berlin's Boris Dolinski, the famed Ostgut Ton artist that has played Berghain more than ANY other DJ in the last 12 years, delivers this week's Global Vibe Radio mix.

Last May, 30D Records (@30drecords) offered its unique streaming showcase, recorded live in LAUT Barcelona. Traveling from Berlin for this special occasion, Boris offered one of his acclaimed sets, always unpredictable, inspiring, full of energy and plenty of unexpected tracks. On July 17th, Boris will release an exclusive cassette with 30D Records, an ambient mix limited to 25 copies

Boris' musical roots reach back to the mid-80s, when he lived in New York for four years where he absorbed the unique spirit of the seminal club Paradise Garage weekend after weekend. From the Club’s mentor Larry Levan, Boris learned to believe in his musical intuition as well as a broad musical spectrum, which nowadays ranges from Disco, Hi-NRG, Post-Punk, and (Kraut-) Rock to House and Techno, all of which Boris loves to throw into one set. „Music was most important for Levan. He was uncompromising and he knew how to convey it. That’s what I’m trying to achieve, too, when I’m djing.“

Many years later, Boris became a resident at Panorama Bar’s first incarnation in Berlin, where he was able to build a loyal following by playing long sets lasting until noon. „The crowd is always a lot more receptive to music at the end than at the beginning. That’s when I rather have the opportunity to present unusual stuff and that’s when I’m able to let my feelings run freely.“

After the old OstGut/Panorama Bar closed, Boris played in almost every club in Berlin, but when the follow-up club Berghain opened its doors in 2004, he quickly focused on playing out here again. From 2005 till 2010 he had another musical platform, as he was taking care of the label Careless Records as an A&R. As a DJ, he is not exactly keen on refining a certain genre, but rather pushing music with a certain twist.

My next guest on Yax Invites is Sydney based DJ and Producer Albert Chiovenda. 

Albert Chiovenda is a deep space techno traveller and a somewhat leftfield techno artist who enjoys vibrant sound design and distinct, abstract experimentation, he brings to the table a seasoned style of endless, purist, intrigue. Albert challenges himself and the listener to immerse themselves in unusual sonic landscapes that slingshot the listener into abstract worlds full of wonder, mystery and self discovery. He believes music is about connecting and invites the listener to challenge themselves to look beyond the music to where the music takes you...the inner self that dwells within.. 

Albert has releases on various labels including Granulart Recordings, Hayes Collective, SRIE, Evod Music , ANAØH ,Affekt Recordings, Illegal Alien Records and has plans for future releases. Has also released on Ben Sims Label (Machine) and has  collaborated with Stanislav Tolkachev.

Alex Dolby has reached the coveted ground of over 15 years of releasing music and seen his high pedigree of creations landing on labels ranging from Global Underground, John Digweed’s Bedrock, to more recently Emmanuel’s ARTS, Developer’s Modularz and DJ Emerson’s Micro.fon amongst others.

Development and experimentation are the main influences in his sound as Alex has firmly settled on creating expressive techno. A deep love for analogue sounds, rough textures and tough rhythms are accompanied by dystopian aesthetics. A clear focus on functional club weaponry is wrapped up in his productions to pay homage to the dance floors he draws so much inspiration from.

Diversifying his legacy as a music connaisseur, Alex launched the respected Affekt Recordings in 2012 that has a catalogue of music from the likes of Pär Grindvik, Alex Bau, Mental Resonance, VSK, and MTD for example as he continues to enterprise and enlist new talent apace with established artists.

This label project also culminated in the emergence of Affekt Club that situated in his Italian home town of Frosinone, is a reflection of the labels output that inspires the clubs ethos of underground culture and musical standards.

Alex’s contemporary fourth studio album in 2018 “Fault System” has reinforced his noteriety as a leading light and much loved creative. Picking up heavyweight support from the likes of Laurent Garnier, Chris Liebing, Charlotte de Witte, Marcel Dettmann, Ben Sims, Jonas Kopp, Ø [Phase], Dax J, Truncate and Etapp Kyle to name only a few.

Added to this, one of his hit records from the 2006 album of the same name “Psiko Garden” recently received a remix in the first entry of the Classic Reworks vinyl series for Affekt from the unrelenting Manchester duo AnD (Electric Deluxe/CLR), bringing a much loved nostalgic gem into new territory.

The successes Alex has achieved have allowed him to travel around the world to play revered locations such as DC10 (Ibiza), Extrema Festival (Belgium), Bonusz Festival (Hungary), Griessmuhle (Berlin), Sazae (Osaka), Branceleone (Rome) or Cafè D’Anvers (Belgium) where he has shared his passionate and ardent sounds as he maintains an imperative grasp on the hearts and minds through the affirmation of his cherished contributions.

Deepak Sharma is a New York based DJ, producer, and label curator of Hidden Recordings. With over 10 years experience in  the field, he has played at locations around the globe including the esteemed LAUT club in Barcelona, Tresor Berlin, Basement New York, a Mixmag Lab New York set, Columbia and other areas of South America, and most recently playing several shows in Vietnam. 

His productions have been remixed by the likes of Psyk, NX1, Tadeo and Inigo Kennedy and have consistently gained support from some of the industry's best, such as DVS1, Amotik and Rene Wise.

This is the round 100th OECUS​ Podcast Series. We are extremely happy that our series hit 100 having delivered great and diverse mixes from 100 DJs and producers. We have reached another level of our podcast series by giving contribution to electronic music scene being now even more inspired to think forward and keep presenting both respectable and big-name artists as well as aspiring names in the techno scene. OECUS is delighted to present the 100th mix delivered by Emmanuel​. We invited not only a prominent artist but also our dear friend who is  absolutely inspiring, determined and truly passionate figure to us. Emmanuel always pushes the sound boundaries to another level and the one who stands out from the crowd. Emmanuel is a techno DJ and producer, owner of the label ARTS​ and Darkmatter Inc.​,  collaborations with imprints such as: Monnom Black​, Deeply Rooted​ and Enemy Records​. A true artist will always have something that makes them stand out from the crowd. In the case of Emmanuel its his wonderful ability to transfer his daily emotions and experiences, into the music that he creates. Srilankans and Maldivians roots, born in Pireo (Greece) in 1987, Emmanuel, despite his young age, it's already a well travelled guy. After a short stay in Greece he moved alongside his family towards the grey and foggy north of Italy, Milan with precision. Here he spent most of his recent past. During his long trips music has never been missing by his experiences background. From his early passion for the etno-folk melodies of the countries in which his DNA sinks his roots, he soon moved to new sounds, quickly founding great interests in the electronic phenomena. Interests that were too often limited, interests that after a few weeks were already aiming to become something more, to become his own thing. That so, aged 16, Emmanuel approached the first softwares and started doing music. In so doing, in a short lap of time, he got in touch with several artists and started to establish his relationship with a few big names.
