LYRIC, comprised of both Lyza & Ericson, started their project in 2019. Both are inspired by the groove and have multiple releases showcasing their take on this sub-genre. Their sets are fast and catchy while maintaining a steady rhythm. They are members of the Berliner Selected Crew, which has its place in the Revier Südost and residents at Klub PAN in their former hometown Hannover.

We are more than delighted to welcome Arkan onto our podcast for episode 150. The certified groove-dealer has been dishing out highly potent doses of his signature sound of straight-to-the-point minimalistic and precise techno for quite a while now. Since his early beginnings in fact, as a musician at a young age, Arkan was already fascinated by harmonies and the intense emotions they could evoke from the audience. Over time he has only intensified this approach, leading him to what he would today describe as "harmonical grooves research".  But it is not only in terms of music that he is constantly pushing forward the new groove movement (groovement?). His labels Autonome Records and more recently Drawner Records are both synonymous with quality and have grown into well respected labels of the emerging underground.

Continuously trying to exceed his own limits, MARRØN employs fast rhythmics inspired by his roots. The artist’s moniker pays homage to the strong-willed MARRØN’s, a once-enslaved African tribe who defied oppression and found freedom in the primeval forests of Surinam. The hypnotic, percussive beats characterizing MARRØN’s foundational Afro Deep style have evolved to form a singular conception of techno. His dynamic take on the genre is at home in the underground, most notably in his role as co-founder and resident of Amsterdam’s Eerste Communie.

TWR72 joins for DifferentSound Podcast #110.

TWR72 pioneers a forward thinking approach towards electronic music: a fusing and pulsing rhythm with a cutting drive, binding it with a strong signature groove. Amsterdam based, he premiered a collaboration with Truncate in 2014. This was the same year in which Float Records was established that explores the combination of perfection and simplicity shown by both new talented producers as well as renowned artists. Between 2016 and 2020, he had his debut in Techno’s most praised club, Berghain, released the successful EP 'X' on his own label and surprised with the unique series 'ERROR' which all let to touring around Europe and the US. In 2020, TWR72 started his 2nd label for his long love and passion: the Techno era of the late nineties, early twenties. OOM Records brings back that memorable sound with high BPM loop groovers for a new era. Furthermore, a fruitful collaboration with the Amsterdam based party organization Orphic has started. After closing 2020 with a successful EP at close friends label HAYES, TWR72 celebrates 2021 with the 50th release "VOID" on Float Records and his debut on Mindtrip Records. After the summer, his first EP "Venom" on OOM Records is to be released and he will debut on Setaoc Mass' SK_Eleven.

Hailing originally from Milan, Italy, the young Alarico has been popping up left and right internationally on various flyers and record releases, both of them hinting at a great career in the making. Part of a new freshman class of artists working on raw, deep, and quick techno, his productions often result in psychotic effect. Fast, swinging hats chase a rolling synth line made only more erratic by confronting stabs.

In an era where emulating vintage sound is the trend, Alarico takes the best of the past and extracts the cheapness before looking forward, creating records of very reliable effect that have been employed by the world’s top selectors. Taking all of this into account, it would only make sense to have him release on HAYES collective, do a 14-track mental breakdown of a record on Diffuse Reality, do his first contribution to Token, or deliver probably his most successful release yet on Amsterdam’s OOM Records.
