Simone Scardino has created a musical style and vision that truly is his own, sharing it with the world with his new solo project CONCEPTUAL.

Techno is body music. It’s all about this special feeling that you have when your mind disconnects and your body just follows the music, the feeling of freedom when you dance. Simone’s vision of techno unceasingly characterizes his unique productions as well as his DJ sets. Colorful and energetic techno, a powerful explosion of craziness and happiness at the same time. Three-dimensional spatial sounds combined with gentle but determined drum grooves create a mystical and whirling result and a killer stereo experience!

Last year Simone founded the Berlin based art and music collective Friendship Collective. Through his devotion to techno and visual and performance arts the idea for CONCEPTUAL was born. His performances will often be characterized by collaborations with visual artists and performers, creating a special techno experience for the people that come to see him play. 

Simone’s progressive approach to producing and DJing as well as his collaborations with artists in and outside music reflects his artistic vision and goals as much as his spirited personality, and, in its essence, embodies what CONCEPTUAL represents. Plans for the year hold upcoming releases as well preparing playing live, continuously exploring the world of electronic music with his fans.

Italo/Iranian DJ and Producer Sciahriar ‘Sciahri’ Tavakoli has been meandering throughout the spectrum of Techno ever since his 2014 debut EP on Ilian Tape ‘Mysterious Love’. His output has touched the functional paradigms of this genre as much as strongly texture-focused experimentation. This is reflected on his multi-faceted DJ sets. His significance in the scene has been established via some of its most influential record labels, such as Opal Tapes, Manhigh, Semantica, Mord, and, in parallel, via his own outlet Sublunar Records since 2017. This has been complemented by his production with German producer Desroi (Avian / Semantica) releasing music for Semantica, Non Series and Mord, and within the left-field techno/electronica duo UNKNOT with electroacoustic musician Emanuele Porcinai (Contort / Subtext). With his label Sublunar he has been contributing to shaping the sound of contemporary Techno, releasing affirmed as well as up-and-coming artists such as Svreca, Nuel, Refracted, Donor, Nh.

Inland’s output today stands for purist and inherently progressive rhythmic work, grounded in the romantic traditions of early Techno yet driven by a constant search for new ground, textures and studio-techniques. His well-rounded artistic profile also includes successfully running the versatile Counterchange label, which he not only uses as a space for his own sound experimentation and pushing his creativity, but also as a platform for building talent. Some of Inland’s most recent projects includes being co-founder of Arch events, which is a series of electro-acoustic ambient/experimental concerts.

In this mix, Inland treats us to his impeccable dance floor energy and gives a glimpse in the future of Counterchange. Including lots of unreleased material by himself and both label mainstays and new faces, it’s certain that he will get you going.

EMBODIMENT 043 - INLAND

Dirty Epic welcomes aboard @scopekim for its forty sixth episode of Amplify Series.

Scøpe, a Korean techno producer and DJ, runs a SCOPÁVIK podcast series that introduces mix of techno artists from all over the world. And he is holding a regular party called SCOPÁVIK in club vurt. In 2018, he started running a record label of the same name and is establishing his own world of music. Since his debut EP in 2014, he has been constantly showing his own sounds from his every releases.

His dynamic DJ sets almost push the listeners into trance by eliciting their subconscious movements with new grooves which rhythmical structures in each track organically intertwine with each other and incrementally accumulate into, and then all of a sudden lead them to a lyrical tone, thus presenting listeners with the type of joy that only techno music can deliver by creating an intersection between reason and instinct.

We warmly welcome Berlin local Deluka (@francesco-de-luca) to our series, who delivered a versatile mix with a lot of interesting picks. From spaced out trips to more old school sounding, percussive rhythms, he is spanning a wide range, but still keeping the red thread. Deluka is certainly one to keep an eye on for everyone digging realness and Detroit techno vibes. We also highly recommend the releases on his own label no signal.

Techno and ambient have a certain inextricable valence that many great artists are constantly mining in their search for new sounds, though maybe few as well as Berlin based DJ/Producer Alex Moya. Under his Refracted alias, the Spaniard is master of his sound: one that veers from atmospheric and pathos heavy to dexterous techno fit for dancefloor ritual. He’s a sculptor, of transcendent waveforms that is, and one whose sonic explorations have been released on storied imprints like PoleGroup, Silent Season, Semantica, Slow Life and his very own outlet Mind Express (fanfare predictably close at heel). Chief among his recent work? Bassiani Podcast 159 is a strong contender. A droning dose of reality-warping techno, 95 minutes of ricocheting sounds from a talent like no other.
