Music has always been an essential part of Jacobo García López de Araujo aka @Clap-Kent. After a decade agitating Madrid’s nightlife with projects focused on culture and community such us Self-Care or The Bourbaki, he moves to Barcelona in 2021. Record colector and DJ, his selections are deep and careful, taking forgotten gems and presenting them with a close perspective, slightly looking to the left of the horizon.

This mix is perfect to get you started for the weekend. House jams, over cheeky melodies that will make you stand up and shake that booty.

El jueves 6 de julio volvimos con @otherstothefront a la pista de baile presentando la nueva escena de CDMX. Ciudad de México es uno de los lugares donde la electrónica de baile underground se está renovando desde la óptica de la nueva cultura urbana latina. Y eso mismo hacen Paurro (que tristemente no podrá estar con nosotres por motivos personales y a la cual mandamos todo nuestro amor y apoyo) y Kodemul con sus tocadas. House, UK Garage, Bass, Breaks en un continuo de baile y ritmo para encender la pista.

Nos visita, por primera vez en Madrid y en su primer tour por Europa, @Kodemul promotor de las raves queer @PorDetroit que se desarrollan entre CDMX y Los Angeles. Kodemul ha desarrollado un universo propio, inequívocamente mexicano, a partir del sonido del techno y el house de Detroit más puros.

About the Mix: «In her seminar "Analog Synthesis for Witches", the musician & artist Gavilán Rayna Russom described our lives as condensate energy temporarily bubbling up from the deep waters of our ancestors. Whenever we visit I always ask her to re-explain the concept and where it comes from, but then I always forget the deets. But I always think about how House music reflects back to me the inner walls of our bubbles so eloquently. It encapsulates the hard times and the opulent ones in a folk tradition type of way. Wherever its goes, good things always seem to follow. I made this mix on two CDJs and a mixer and it features some of my very loved tracks that span the timeline and dimensions of House.»
