Setup test for current O'er Field and Stream recording using a vintage Western Electric 639B dual element ribbon/dynamic microphone. This test is in position 3, 6' in front of the kit and about 5' from the ground. This is with a 4.5 db gain boost and no equalization/effects. Microphone on loan from Steven Spracklen.

We've been working on the tracks for a forthcoming album, this is latest progress on the first-ish track (may add some narration before the first track at some point, hence "ish"). This is without lyrics yet, will be sung by Travis McKenzie, when I can get him to the studio.

Big Blue Ox - demo

From 11-20-2011, our first real meet-up as a band and our first recording session... we played 8 hours a day for two days and made 5 live instrumental recordings. Black Bear and Viking are also from this recording frenzy, the only two that were pretty much ready to go as-is. This one has an overdubbed glockenspiel part where I lost my fingers for a moment... oops! On the other two tracks, which will probably not be used ever, I lost my fingers multiple times and was not able to find them until several days thereafter. They had gone to the park. 

Poseidon

Phone recording, one time thru "Wait Till The Sun Shines, Nellie", ukulele and whistle, with a baby asleep in a baby carrier attached to me... this is how I do the majority of my playing these days. Fell in love with this chord progression a few days ago when I heard Bing and Judy Garland sing it in a broadcast of the Philco radio show on youtube. Funny stuff.
