21-year-old newcomer Taylor James Eary has always been one to carve his own path. The very nature of being a solo artist at a piano marks him out as someone a bit different. He was self-taught after he being given a knackered keyboard when he was 15, learning what he could from YouTube. Having hoovered up a myriad of influences, the arena-filling balladry of Coldplay's "Trouble" was the first song he learnt, but he was soon devouring more off-kilter artists to absorb into his work; the jazz stylings of Tom Waits and Chet Faker have been heavy influences in his early writing.  

Having been accepted into the hallowed halls of BIMM (George Ezra, James Bay, and Tom Odell being recent alumni), he left after a year: again, forging his own path felt more natural. 

Currently honing his sound with writer/producer Carey WIlletts, and another fiercely unique artist, Ben Christophers, "Moving On" is his first release, showcasing some of the abilities that he taught himself.  Recently opening for Tom Speight, he kept the audience transfixed in a normally noisy Camden Assembly, surely a sign of a young artist with something to say. 

Following on from his debut release, Taylor will be supporting Cameron Jones on Monday 8th May at Servant Jazz Quarters, then his debut headline show at the Islington on May 23rd.

"Moving On" is available everywhere on April 21st.
