Italia, 2019. Carlo è un ragazzo italiano di 22 anni, ha un’anima contemplativa ed è tormentato da idee pessimiste sul mondo e su chi lo popola. Tramite la sua profonda sensibilità, studia tutto ciò che si trova intorno a lui, interiorizzandolo e soffrendone in prima persona. Egli è coinquilino di Simone, un ragazzo italiano di 24 anni che, a differenza di Carlo, ama la vita, la vive con pensieri positivi e  rendendo parte a serate di completa spensieratezza. Carlo si ritrova a dover fare i conti con il suo modo di vedere il mondo e, a causa di questo, decide che è arrivato il momento di farla finita e di concludere la sua sofferenza, scegliendo la finestra della sua stanza come superamento del limite materiale e, quindi, della vita. Egli entra in un vortice di tentennamento: il suo istinto lo porterebbe a gettarsi oltre la finestra, ma qualcosa dentro di lui cerca di trovare ancora delle ragioni per protrarre la propria esistenza. È proprio a causa di queste sue intenzioni contrastanti che Simone, di ritorno da una delle solite serate, trova Carlo nella sua stanza rapito dalle sue riflessioni, nel buio, intento ad osservare la sua grande finestra e, oltre, il profondo blu della notte più oscura. Simone lo rincorre nella stanza, ma Carlo è ormai inarrivabile, perso nei suoi istinti.

Italy, 2019. Carlo is a 22-years-old Italian boy. He has a contemplative soul and is tormented by pessimistic ideas about the world and those who populate it. Through his deep sensitivity, he studies everything that is around him, internalizing it and suffering from it personally. He is the roommate of Simone, a 24-year-old Italian boy who, unlike Carlo, loves life, lives it with positive thoughts and takes part in evenings of complete carefree. Carlo finds himself having to deal with his way of seeing the world and, because of this, he decides that it is time to end his suffering and to end his suffering, choosing the window of his room as an overcoming of the material limit. and, therefore, of life. He enters a vortex of hesitation: his instincts would lead him to throw himself over the window, but something inside him still tries to find reasons to continue his existence. It is precisely because of these conflicting intentions that Simone, returning from one of the usual evenings, finds Carlo in his room, enraptured by his reflections, in the dark, intent on observing his large window and, beyond, the deep blue of the darkest night. dark. Simone chases him into the room, but Carlo is now unreachable, lost in his instincts.

"Orizonte is meant to be a visual path to explore the concept of voyage, of moving through space or time.
The core of the text is taken from some original 19th century travel diaries which depict explorations in North and Central America.
The whole set of images can be read through different levels which are at the same time linked together but also unconnected. The photographs are either inspired by the text or a free interpretation of our contemporary culture.
The ornithological representations, (synthesis of the private collection made by Federico and Ettore Craveri during their explorations), recur and change through an ideal path that is aimed to reproduce the various sensations originated from experiences and memories of their journeys.
Finding an old, long-forgotten collection of photographs – traces from the past, nameless faces from our land or unknown, imaginary places – marked the starting point of this work. These images (highlighting their dream like or didactic implications) are presented together with some extracts from the diaries and the result is a travel account of a universal story.
The voyage is considered at the same time a transition and a reflection: what were we before? Where are our roots? Who are the people in the pictures? Which are the places, the passages, the relationships?
The photographs could have been taken by the same writers of the diaries with the intent to reproduce family faces, to depict their voyages, their discoveries.
Another option is that these photographs could be read as memories from our collective past or our sensations of what we have figured to see, our familiar places or anywhere else: they could be a true fitness or an imaginary one.
Appropriating and interpreting the photographic material has meant focusing on some details to create a new, personal vision of the theme of the voyage.
Discovery and finding raise questions. Their natural consequences are mistery and unveiling."
