Second State 042 see us turn for the second consecutive time to an artist who has only before appeared on our VA compilation “SUM 3”.
DEAS now presents his first solo endeavor with a stellar 5 tracker titled ‘Velocity’ where lush psychedelics and raw, heavy Techno is balanced to perfection. Intensity prevails on cuts like ‘Ultraviolet’, ‘Black Sky’ and ‘Black Core’ where shimmering aural artifacts set the stage for fierce percussives and mind bending builds as opposed to the more delicately finessed touches on ‘Velocity’ and ‘Mandrake’ where the pressure reveals itself in much more subtle ways. If you are prepared to take a trip into the darkly enchanted corners of Techno, look no further. DEAS’ debut ‘Velocity’ has it all.

Slam drop their 2nd release of 2018 as the duo continue to develop their unique and hard-hitting sound with the Constructivism EP. Despite the pair’s heavy touring schedule, they consistently deliver ever more impressive releases each time, exploring the realms of dance floor orientated Techno.   Opening with Mellifluous, surging synths are propelled by tough kicks and driving percussive elements yet the whole track is tied together by deep and emotive pads. Pantera begins to take things up a notch. A seemingly more stripped back approach gives way to hypnotic rhythms and effect drum workouts. Paradox lifts things further still, building gradually through effective use of subtle FX and a very in your face track structure. Title track Constructivism a colossal EMB cut, road-tested by the pair at Berghain just two weeks ago, closes out the EP. A well crafted and constantly evolving sequence burns at the heart and drives this monster home with furious energy.

Coming in hot off their latest Watergate Mix Adana Twins deliver their first EP stemming from the mix itself putting what could be the standout track off the compilation: their remix of Patrice Bäumel’s ‘Roar' front and center. Taking the hugely successful original which could be considered as much a tool as it is a peak time bomb, the duo twist the initial anthem into a climactic, euphoric ride by adding their signature percussion and shimmers of melody while utilizing the original’s spine tingling tension to create an absolutely massive and memorable dance floor experience. 

Flipping to the B-side, Adana Twins present ‘Aufstand der Massen’ where they dive into the ethereal corners of dramatic Techno reminiscent of the ‘Jupiter’ EP from early this year creating a flawlessly executed trip into enchanted territory.
