In full respect of such a single work and keeping our tradition we completed the pack with a worldwide remix conspiracy involving the the Argentine Juan Lombardo, the Japanese Shiro and our homeboys Curly Project.

Mat.Joe sure had an impressive breakthrough ride last year including worldwide recognition, endless touring schedule and an impressive catalogue of tracks and remixes including acclaimed eps in OFF which quickly scouted them as core artists. 2014 started as busy as expected for the Berlin duo, with tracks and remixes in Suara, Stil Von Talent and our own 5 year talent compilation. Hot as they are, we thought this was a good time for another EP, and they delivered an impressive pair of floor movers with their usual versatility and good taste.
"Way Too Bad" shows their sampling skills with a rolling groove full of soul that swirls nicely over funky drums and a killer bassline. 

On the b side, "Brighton Beach" shows a deeper, thoughtful escapade, with synth keys and arpeggios slilding into a big boom bass creating an uplifting vibe for a very special time in the night. 

Both tracks capture the essence of Mat.Joe while being perfect tools for different moments and feelings. Another true gem from the OFF camp!

Akabu feat. Alex Mills "Everybody Wants Something" was an enormous tune for many in 2013 and is still getting played by big name dj's in bustling nightclubs around the world.

Now we give you some off the chain/on point/un-believable remixes from Kolombo, Rhemi & Giom. We're not going to describe the nuances of each remix and highlight why the aforementioned big name djs like dropping the track in their sets at cool clubs/festivals/corporate events but all are pretty bloody good...

Simina Grigoriu lines up Volume 12 in her Passengers series; a cross-continental VA division of her ever-reliable Kuukou Records.  So far the series has brought together artists from Turkey, Belgium, Germany, Greece, and the UK amongst other nationalities and next up is Spanish artist Sergio Pardo, Italian producer Alec Ben, Colombian duo Maunell & Leandroft and Ourspace from Italy.
Sergio Pardo kicks things off - following releases on Spinnin Deep, Erase and Flashmob with an upfront dance floor killer. Bright, brazen drums are driven out across a powerful 4/4 that carries a potent, muscular force as it bursts out the blocks. An off-beat bass line galvanises the groove before a breakdown splits things wide open with hazy pads, some sultry brass and soulful vocals. 
Alec Ben then follows up with 'Disco Broken'; a murky building block which sets a thick sub rippling under dub-licked stabs and a tightly sprung shuffle. On-beat claps and a persistent vocal keep things buoyant and lively, dialling in a pre-eruptive mood making it a dynamite DJ tool. 
Maunell & Leandroft then finish up with a clinic in dance floor tension. A palpable energy is derived from a coiled sequence which twists at a polyrhythm against neat drums and a thick, subdued kick drum. Thorny vocals growl at the centre of the track creating a vibe that melts as nicely into an after-hours set as it does create a head-twisting interlude at peak time.
