The first instalment of 2015's The Sound of Glitterbox mix series comes courtesy of resident Joey Negro who will be joining us for the Opening Party alongside Todd Terry, Horse Meat Disco, The Revenge, Simon Dunmore and DJ Pippi. http://po.st/gbx1 

The incredible array of DJs and performers set to appear this summer include Hercules & Love Affair, Todd Terje, Julio Bashmore and Fatboy Slim alongside Glitterbox residents Joey Negro, Dimitri From Paris, Horse Meat Disco and Simon Dunmore.

In addition to what is already one of the strongest and most eclectic Ibiza line-ups of the season, this year will see new creative elements added to the event, overseen by Glitterbox Creative Director, Mark Herman. TradeMark, aka UK artist, Mark Wardel, has designed the stunning new Glitterbox artwork, while masterminding the performance side, club collective Savage will consist of three different dance crews (Sink The Pink, Hot Heels & Nutbags) who will all bring their own unique energy to the night.

Next up on our guest mix series is the Liverpudlian duo ‘Truth Be Told’ 

They hit the scene with an unexpected welcome when their debut EP received notable support from some of the industries most recognised names. The named ‘Too Much Time’ EP (released on a local record label, Carpé Diem Musica) collected plays from DJ’s such as Richie Hawtin and spun at some of the worlds biggest clubs and festivals, including Space Ibiza and Unknown Festival in Croatia. Tick, the A side from the EP has since had extensive support from the likes of Josh Butler and Bontan some time after its initial release date.

Shortly after becoming semi-finalists at Parklife Festival's 2013 producer competition, Hector Couto picked up an EP from the lads for his own record label, Roush. The Roush catalogue had already seen such huge hits with Josh Butler’s Take That EP and an EP from the Italian honcho, Raffa FL. The EP received massive feedback and featured on Jamie Jones’ Paradise Boiler Room and spun by Darius Syrossian on a Sankeys 20th Anniversary special, both streamed live from Ibiza. Support remixes came from Amnesia Ibiza’s resident, Mar-T and Filthy Rich AKA Rich Wakley. 

Their Fuxx It Up EP set the production and style standard for the lads and ever since then they’ve had releases on other established labels such as Fat! Records and Criminal Hype Records. Truth Be Told are currently working on remixes, collaborations and releases with other highly established labels whilst playing at and supporting the big guys in and around the UK.

Ivan Latyshev (@ivanlatyshev) is a record producer and DJ with more than 10-years experience, having grown up in Russia’s cultural epicentre of St Petersburg. Developing a love for deep house, the young producer has been releasing his perfectly- realised club tunes on labels such as Toolroom, and now provides us with a second outing on Dessous Recordings. The Art of Flying EP presents two original tracks and a pair of remixes of the lead cut. 

The original 'Art of Flying' is quite a statement - a jazzy, swingy beat introduces the track, before solidifying around punchy 4 / 4 groove. Restless synths drift in and out resulting in a track that is both exceptionally funky and deeply wonkytopped off with a killer spoken word vocal.

The ever-dependable Eddie Fowlkes steps up on remix duties and supplies a more jacking interpretation, adding a filthy bassline on his Fly Mix.

The same track also gets a 'Crazy Dub' rework which expands the space within the track and strips it down for maximum club effect.

Citizenn is the moniker of London (via Nottingham) based artist Laurence B. Taking his name from a passing visual reference in the Manga film Akira Citizenn originally arrived via releases on MadTech, the label owned by New Jersey house don Kerri Chandler. Within a year, after singles on Waze & Odyssey’s Street Tracks, 20/20 Vision as well as on the label extension of Love Fever, his favourite underground party, Citizenn had been named DJ Magazine’s Breakthrough DJ of 2013. 

As the musical journey continued, 6 am stints at Berlin's infamous Panorama Bar and a globe-trotting diary taking him from Japan, Tulum, Kiev and everywhere in between, he distilled all these new experiences into his debut LP on Damian Lazarus’s ever-influential Crosstown Rebels imprint. The album entitled 'Human Interface' dealt with themes of human intersectionality with our mechanical counterparts through a tapestry of the tightly wound house and techno influenced an EP, the records receiving national radio play and praise from his peers. Citizenn has been a mainstay at popular Ibiza hotspots such as DC10, Blue Marlin and Sankeys for the quickly growing Abode brand of which he has also released with.

Citizenn has found a clarity of vision within the circus that is life as a successful musician.
