Mark Mullkoff, an Ann Arbor, Michigan-born, Toronto-based DJ and promoter who goes by Mark PM has kept his production work close to his chest but lays his cards down confidently with his debut EP “Inversions”. 
Drawing inspiration from the dusty funk of crate-digging culture and the freeform eclecticism of radio from his hometown, this release stretches the best moments of the records you may have overlooked into the grooves that will stick in your head all summer. 

The rawness of “Hype Man” showcases the flipping of a one second sample; Propelled by off-beat open hi-hats, “Wash Up” is a sweaty groove that matches sampled horns against a grainy synth solo; “On The One” punctuates the funk with horn stabs, slap-bass, and night out swagger; “Crowd Work” is a slinky, warbly interlude that embodies the spirit of outdoor festivities. 
“Loud Enough” bounces along with car windows down, breezy chillwave beats, and a playful giggle; “Forever” evokes the bittersweet nostalgia of endless summer, sung through a bit-crushed sax solo. 
The EP closes out with Stereo Ferment label head Oreku and his psychedelic dance floor sensibilities with Mark PM’s sample-chopping acumen on a faraway beach party for “L’Experience.”

As promised, here is the 50m set that I played at the most recent DNB Collider event in Montréal at Bar La Shop! As you all may know I typically play mostly dubstep, (or at least some halftime & dnb in most sets) but for this one I went in with almost exclusively heavy rollers for this high energy, packed, epic crowd.

Mix pour Drum & Bass Collider à Montréal [OCT 2022] [00h30-01h20]

Sometimes there are moments and sets in London clubland where the stars align, certain artists are in the building and the energy is LOOSE.

Skee Mask at the HVYWGHT 4th Birthday back in February was one of those moments.

Following on from a South London Digital Mystikz homecoming at peak time to a fever pitch Brixton Electric. Playing a dubstep party for the first time, alongside legends of the scene - Skee Mask proceeded to play one of the hardest sets we’ve ever seen, effortlessly mixing classic grime into dubstep into techno into breaks and beyond.

A flurry of MC’s were in the wings, none of whom were booked to host the set but had no choice but to jump on. The energy was infectious - Flowdan B2B Trim B2B Chunky B2B SP:MC over Skee Mask on the Sinai Soundsystem. We can guarantee you will never get this combination of artists on a set EVER again.

Mark PM - Originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan, Mark PM began DJing in Montreal in 2011, and then promoting in Toronto in 2016 with Oscillate, and later Temporal Drift. He also began focusing heavily on beat-making and production, dropping first EP in 2021 on the Stereo Ferment label.
