From December 2020 through the end of February 2021 I did a weekly 1-hour mixshow on Twitch called DANCE '21. I purposely didn't archive anything, and the loving crew of folks who came back each week made it something really special. I did record this one episode cause I had a feeling it would be good, and it was. 29 tracks in 67 minutes, mostly electro & freestyle classics with some other stuff thrown in. The hotmix lives!!

Tiffany has a few words about the incredible mix she's put together for us, 'When I was working on this mix, I thought about a trippy but also euphoric set I would play for my friends at a forest rave. In Seattle, summer is the most beautiful time of year. It’s also when everyone gets excited about throwing outdoor parties.

Lately I’ve been drawn to a lot of more bass-driven and polyrhythmic tracks, so I explored that part of my sound with this mix.'

Furtive is a full-gonzo polychromatic rave conjurer and relentless creative tinkerer. A Philadelphia-based producer, DJ, and occasional event organizer with over a decade of experience in the studio, Furtive's production wizardry has allowed them to land releases on a variety of US and overseas labels, along with a slew of tracks on VA compilations and dozens of self-released cuts. Furtive’s body of work comprises psychedelic warphole-diving techno, quirky and muscular electro, acerbic acid tracks, crooked bass bits, moving ambient atmospheres, and drum & bass bin-rattlers. Furtive cut their teeth as a DJ and promoter in Washington, DC’s warehouses, where they also played a turnkey role in putting on some of the District’s zaniest techno parties. As a DJ, they’ve supported internationally celebrated no-nonsense acts and held court in dingy local watering holes - always with eclectic selections and a steadfast focus on pacing and dynamics, regularly jumping genres to build moving and impactful sets. Beyond the fog and strobe lights, Furtive creates art in a variety of mediums, including linocuts, render art, inky drawings, and occasionally tattooing.

A little about this mix: I recently played Wrecked in April and my set wasn’t recorded, so I decided to reconstruct some of my favorite moments from the night. Lately I’ve been trying to piece together my love of different genres when I play out: leftfield techno, polyrhythmic sounds, post-dubstep, more classic 4x4 techno and house rhythms, and my love of 80s synthy tracks. It’s not always easy for DJs to express all sides of our musical tastes, and it’s definitely still a work in progress for me. Wrecked felt like a perfect time to experiment more with weaving between many genres. I always try to record mixes in one take, so forgive any minor bumps and bruises along the way in this recording 💖. May is AAPI Heritage month, so this mix is also dedicated to all the other Asian DJs holding it down and doing amazing things around the world. 

 T.Wan is a Brooklyn-based DJ with deep origins in Seattle. Her perceptive ear for trippy techno and bassy, polyrhythmic tracks captivated listeners at Honcho Campout and has since earned her opportunities to play at notable NYC venues like Nowadays, Basement, and Good Room. She has a monthly show on Bristol-based Noods Radio, where she’s been a resident for the past 3 years.
