Introducing the DJ and producer Porter Brook as our guest who will be joining RARRI on the decks tonight. 

He has been making waves in the broken beat and 🇬🇧 techno scene since 2018 with releases on Groundwork, Electroménager and Left Right and Centre, whilst also being a staple of both the Sheffield and Manchester club scene, supporting artists such as Tim Reaper, ANZ, Helena Hauff, LCY, Re:ni & Laksa. In 2020, this earned him a residency at Sheffield's infamous Hope Works club. Just recently he moved to Leipzig and we're very excited to have him!

Expressions of a Mind in Slumber is formed from fragments of sleep talking recorded by Sangre Voss (aka Jim Bremner) between 2017 and 2019. The recordings have been arranged into the nine episodes presented here, alongside ambient and experimental musical accompaniments.

The sleep talking recordings were made possible by the development of an open-source tool called Somnilopy developed by Maya Qiu, allowing for automated gathering of high-quality voice samples throughout the night. The GitHub repository for Somnilopy can be found here: github.com/mfmmq/somnilopy
