Conceptual composition for Evolution, a performance hosted by the UT Austin College of Fine Arts' Theatre and Dance department. Please note that this is an unofficial portfolio piece that does not reflect the true content of the 2020 performance.

The piece is meant to embody dissociation on multiple levels, with a focus on the psychoacoustics of discomfort and harsh tones. The composition was originally going to be longer and implement droning frequencies in the 10,000Hz+ range, but resulted in visceral, physical pain during its creation, and was tempered as a result. This piece stands as a reminder that the term "dissociation" is a painful, maladaptive response developed from trauma or depression, not a synonym for spacing out.
