This is 1 of the few past tracks I still wish to record for my personal album I'm currently working on.
Written by myself with Music from Producer Marco Rakascan who I love and respect working with. He and his musical Co creators always know me so well that our music speaks volumes even in DEMO mode.

The lyrics speak through the points of view of both the victim of an abusive relationship and their dearest friend trying to help them recognise their own ability to get out of it.

01 Alternations (feat. Cleo Higgins & Dave Crowe)

Though it's mostly known as the "Wedding Song" on YouTube, this beautiful song was actually written for my 1st child when she was almost a year old. Finding out what love is all over again is an amazing experience. The 2nd half of the song is inspired by the distant dream of saying "I Do" to my future Husband...


So many people ask for this song for their weddings. Funny enough Mom had me sing it at her own wedding... I tried not to cry but I bawled like a baby before the middle of the song from being "SO HAPPY" for them!  That should explain the photo here. The Man who FINALLY has what it takes to secure my mama. So proud and inspired.  

This has yet to be recorded fully and is in fact STILL in Demo mode. Maybe I'll sort it out someday.

Love Was Made For Us

One of my favourites from the RnB collection I crafted with the incredibly blessed and talented Writer/Producer Michael Batiste for Royaltown Productions.

Ok so clearly with 2 children and no wedding band, I can"t say I waited until marriage but after that epic FAIL, (and another a year after) I found myself in that very position of wanting to. Inspired by this short 3 month stretch (no discipline), I wrote this just beautiful piece.

Just for the record I'm still working on it. y'all know what I'm talking about.

This demo, "Get Gone" is another work from Marco Rakascan and Co.

The basis of the script here is the best friend turned stalker scenario. Copied everything you did and re-modelled themselves off of you! They never admit or like others to point out the similarities. It can be flattering to have a body double... that is until they try it on with your other half... "You - gatta - gaaaaow!"

This song is about feeling trapped and the fear of there being no way out. 

Ok I literally have just done this and would appreciate any feedback...

It's the 1st I've tried to produce the music by myself... It's unfinished and I've had no training but I think I'm gonna go on to complete my album this way and possibly do full production with live band and a co producer.

"When I made my exit from 'BBC The Voice' Semi Finals, My mentor asked Will.I.Am asked me what my plans are. I told him that I hope to become a signed solo artist and would be honoured to work together with him on my journey. 
However, I won't wait on the music labels, writers or producers to make things happen for me. That I could only do that for so long before I just go it alone.

Trading Places (Demo Sampler)- Cleo Higgins

Early 2015, a few months before writing "Trading Places" I wrote "Gravitational Embrace" (Heart Of Stone)

A lot was developing in my story that I couldn't make sense of... 
Ever asked that question, "Why me?" 
I tell my children as I do myself, that we just so happened to be born into a lifetime and life style that may not be the greatest in comparison to our rightful ancestral heritage... However, in comparison to the wars and disastrous effects happening in the world through pillaging, a hunger for power and greed, WE are living a privileged life. 

Then times occur like this when you stop fooling yourself and despise that we are working so hard for nothing, still being robbed and nobody seems to care enough to put an end to it!

Oooh this was one of those moments.
  1 after another I was under what I knew to was a "Spiritual Attack" and it was coming from every direction in my life... 
My love life, so my heart and soul.
My work, so my mental physiology.
My creativity, so my passion, my art.
My finances... and then finally my children... THAT was the end of the line for me.
Whatever was going on in the universe why I couldn't get any resolve was beyond me and my spirt just broke!

This song almost wrote itself once I opened my mouth and sung the first lines. Every word and melody are unchanged to this day and only now I realised I have the ability to craft the music around it.

All of the musical clutter and screaming and booming are terribly necessary.

Though just a sample, I hope you enjoy this as I do.
May it help you to release your own inner suffering and recognise that sometimes having to harden your heart is not always a negative.
Like the song states, "Go on, do your worst. It's mine to claim!"

We are born from a gravitational embrace... the strongest negative forces can beat us down but we are unbreakable. growing and going on to resolve and lengthen the happiness we journey on to endure, over all...
