Kora Description and CREDITS:

Kora the third album for Cultivation is a special project. With the vision of Nature and Lee Scratch, all the ground works for this project was scratched from the ground surface, from Producing to recording to singing and minimalistic melodic translations. 

The literal meaning of the album is derived from the tibetan word "kora" as in a rotation or circumambulation of a sacred place. Bón traditions circumambulation is a counter clock wise movement. Even the tibetan buddhism followed the counter clock wise path until the 5th Dalai Lama. In the albums case the Kora here tries to emulate the Bón tradition’s but in a full circle of earth around the sun, which takes 365 days. And in completion of a kora around the sun, the earth goes through 4 major seasons. 

4 major tracks in the album kora will be a musical translation of the 4 seasons featured with friends and family of Everest Sound System. 

The Album also features artist friend's - Mukyah, Kontinuom, Easi 12, Ras Man Man, Ras Jata, Atsushi Ouchi & Maini.  

This album will consist of 15 tracks, where 4 tunes will be pre-released on youtube as album promotion.

First single from the upcoming Cultivation debut album 'Plains, Hills & Mountains', 'Mother Nature' was written when Nepal was going through the tough times of the 2015 earthquake that rattled the whole country. Cultivation wrote words on this Lion Riddims (Dawn of Time riddim) to translate the moment and above all, thebeautiful geographical and diversity of Nepal and how its people shouldn't lose the unity they have had ever since!

This Is a collaboration between Arrival Sound from London and Cultivation from Kathmandu as Everest Sound System. The lyrics were written by Tashi Gurung (Cultivation) and the music was produced in February 2019 in Kathmandu by collaboration between both artists. Produced and mixed by Hal Wheeler (Arrival Sound), Mastered by Daniel Boyle from Rolling Lion Studio.
