Strange Bones - Underdogs

As a project: it was conceived at the end of 1999,  experimenting with computer generated sounds and improvised noise textures, organic instruments and harsh vocals. Staying away from mainstream sounds and keeping true to the punk attitude and metal influences that have played a big part of the projects distinctive sound.

As a concept: it is a sonic militia, exposing and confronting traditional mass media that shields itself behind the premise of “free speech” but exploits the frail human reality with no sensitivity for a generation drowning in commercialism and consumerism. We are the resistance.

As a sonic style: it is the result of being exposed for many years to various musical genres ranging from punk to funk and grindcore to classical. Playing in various bands, diverse instruments, bandmates, shows, movies and accidents of different and strange nature. The musical releases are as diverse as the styles blended on each one of them.

While it may sound like a battalion of maniacs upon an arsenal of instruments, EvilMinded is the brainchild of Mako, guatemalan musician & producer, who started out as drummer for various local bands and whom throughout the years has worked extensively in promoting local acts and artists with the help of independent label M.I.R. Records & production company Otokonoko SoundDesign. Making an effort in showcasing the ever growing “underground” movement of the region.

Art is not for sale. Art is not a product to be consumed.

Add to this an eclectic and intense live performance, an outspoken character and a delicate balance between chaos and obsessive behavior and you have a project that has shocked audiences for over a decade.
