On Friday, February 9, the Los Angeles-based record label “Barnaton” released the song "Miami Freestyle" by the recognized Spanish DJ Sak Noel and the internationally known Latvian DJ [Ex] da Bass. The song features vocals by Rubi Rox, a talented Dominican singer from Miami, Florida.

“This is the great success story of my 27-year DJ career. I've long followed Spanish DJ, producer, and songwriter Sak Noel, who has long called the US his home and collaborated with the likes of Sean Paul, Pitbull, Major Lazer and Lil Jon. For a wider audience, his name is undoubtedly associated with the legendary club hit “Loca People”, which topped the UK singles charts and eventually propelled him into the global spotlight. At the end of 2023, he suggested his followers make their own version of the collaboration between him and Rubi Rox in a video on his Facebook page. It was a short video in which Rubi rapped in two languages simultaneously. I was so captivated by both the melody and the lyrics that I decided to do my version without thinking about what might come next. After about two weeks, the [Ex] da Bass version was ready, and I sent it to both the singer, who responded in a flash, and to Sak Noel himself for review. And then the thing I least expected happened: both artists were extremely excited about what they heard, and we began officially discussing the release of my remix with a few additions from Sak Noel – as the main version of a maxi-single, with an extended mix for DJ needs as well as Rubi Rox's freestyle, which started it all. This version then became the Alternative Mix. But that’s not all – the idea of inviting Sak Noel to the Baltics came up immediately, and this is the result – on February 14 we will be on stage together in Marijampolė, on February 15 in Kedainai and on February 16 in Jurbarkas, Lithuania. So, on February 17, I will have the honour to warm up Sak Noel at Club “Maxine” in Helsinki. There is also a possibility that there will be a video for the song. Can you believe it? I'm starting to believe it too, really!" says [Ex] da Bass excitedly.

One of the most famous and internationally recognized songs of the Latvian top deejay [Ex] da Bass is the single “Riga Nights”. Back in 2009, when the original version of this song was released, it caused a wide resonance not only in Latvia but also abroad; in addition, the music video for the song was demonstrated by such heavyweights of music television of the time as “MTV”, “VIVA”, “Muz-TV”, “1'st Baltic Music Channel” and many others.

2024 has begun, and [Ex] da Bass, with great pleasure from the work done, talks about reworking this patriotic Latvian club hit, which the record company “Day Dose Of House” released on January 18.

“The original “Riga Nights” was released 15 years ago. This proved that world-class dance music can be created in Latvia as well. Seven years later we released a powerful 2016 version and since the number 7 is more or less lucky, in 2023 I decided that out of a tradition, there should be another cover of the song, which most likely will be the last in the saga of this legendary Latvian club hit. Why didn't we release the single at the end of 2023? The song was ready, but there were some small difficulties, and besides, we are not Mariah Carey or other giants of Christmas songs with whom we would deliberately want to compete for a place on radio station playlists during the holidays and at the end of the year. January seemed more appropriate, so ladies and gentlemen, welcome “Riga Nights 2024”, a song featuring two vocalists: British singer Ian Brearley, who can be heard on all versions of “Riga Nights”, as well as a talented vocalist Sydney Jo Jackson, who is nominated for “Best Vocalist” at the “2023 FHM Awards”” explains [Ex] da Bass.

From April 26th, a new radio single by [Ex] da Bass (Mareks Dainis) titled “Deja Vu”, is a collaboration with the young yet internationally recognized dance music talent from Finland – Devinity (Joel Pirinen), is now available on the biggest music streaming services across the world. The song is retained in the best traditions of modern commercial dance music of Latvia and Finland. The vocals belong to the Finnish singer and songwriter Joanna (Joanna Heikkinen), whose voice resembles one of the biggest singers of our time – Dua Lipa.

“I was introduced to Devinity at a party in Helsinki, Finland, where, as a part of my previous collaboration, I went to perform with the world-famous Spanish DJ, winner of the EDMA 2024 “Best Remixer of the Year”, Sak Noel. Joel is only 24, but his music has been played over 10 million times on streaming platforms. A fact worth mentioning - he has collaborated with such amazing dance music artists as Calvo, Dazz and Viva La Panda. And this is just the beginning! He describes his sound as a combination of pop and dance music which is perfect for both - radio and dance clubs. After chatting for a few hours, we found out we were on the same page and should do a record together. Here it is! “Deja Vu” is an energetic, airy, summery and catchy song - suitable for radio, hot beach parties and big festivals. Most popular DJ in Latvia, reality show TV Star finalist and the host of EHR radio show Party Service  – [Ex] da Bass, releases new radio single Boring Games. The song is made in collaboration with very talanted female singer Ily B (Iveta Baumane). She is known by participating in well know LNT singer show Singing Families 4 and also music band ElektroFolk lead singer. This year ElektroFolk is taking part in Supernova which is Latvian national selection to the 2015 Eurovision Song Contest.

Single is recorded in the Labo Ierakstu Studio in Riga, Latvia by Ingars Vilums, Lotars Lodzins, Janis Kalve and Karlis Indrisonoks. Lyrics is written by Valdis Cirksts who lives in New York, who also made Boring Games video version together with Toms Rings. Single publishing in Europe is undertaken by Estonian record label company Tre Music OÜ. Still in process is negotiation with other mucic publishing companies for single publishing in United States, Russia and Asia. Also on the way are Boring Games remixes which are being mixed by well known producers: N’Works, Franzo Kolms, Seal De Green, Chris Cherry and others.

Singer and songwriter Aminata Savadogo has released three remixes of her Eurovision Song Contest 2015 entry "Love Injected”. Dance music specialist of Radio Pieci.lv, DJ Rudd has selected the most acknowledged Latvian DJs and producers for this job.
