Growing up in Brooklyn, NY, indie recording artist Jay Lyrickal, Formerly Known as Reggie J has always been a fan of Hip-Hop music. Jay has Idolized rappers such as 50 Cent, Eminem, WC, Mack 10, and many more. At a young age, Jay decided to test his skills. After writing his first rhyme in junior H.S., Jay decided to continue writing due to the reception and feedback he got from his peers. Not long after, he began to record music in Brownsville Brooklyn when he started High School. To Jay, music was a hobby, but his hustle and hard work transformed music into a lifestyle. Jay continued to write throughout High School and College. His achievements in music are astonishing. From releasing his first mixtape in 2016, performing for records labels, to attending multiple radio shows, Jay has certainly made his mark as an upcoming talent in New York. Jay has released 5 in studio mixtapes, and has appeared on Mama Jones’ “Cheers To Harlem” show on YouTube. His accolades have truly shown that music is more than just hobby.
