Rising from the streets of North Portland, rapper Kcari is a 19-year-old rose city native who is set to take the rap culture by storm. His music gives a retrospective angle of what it’s like to grow up in the teeth of gang violence and street hustle. When Kcari raps and sings, his words carry the same weight, cauterizing pain as poetry. At the age of 15 Kcari began going to Hustlevzn studios in NE Portland to record tracks after school with Hustlevzn CEO Quincy Sarpong, this is where the birth of his music career began. On January 17th Kcari released his first debut single “No Love” on all platforms. Kcari laid his introspective rhymes atop melodic trap, resulting in a hybrid form that captured the ears of both regions. 2023 is set to be a big year for the rising MC, he will release his debut EP in the spring of 2023.
