[Behind The Track]

Welcome to the seventeenth-third release of Launch Records. This time we have a new track by Kye Lewis and DEAN called ‘Criminal’.

The song starts immediately with a guitar melody together with a vocal. Hereby the melody of the guitar follows the rhythm of the vocal. On top of that in the background a second guitar melody is audible. To fill the empty spaces a drum loop is added. After some time the background melody disappears and instead of this, a baseline is added. Hereby added are some atmospheric sounds. In the background, a subtle uplifting drum loop is added which gets more attention as the track continues. This is the build-up of the track, where at the end only the guitar is audible.

When the drop hits, the track is transforming into a powerful House track with some Deep House and Shuffle elements in it. In this drop, you hear at first a clean guitar play. In the background the same second guitar melody is audible but this time it’s slightly off-key which creates a unique style. On top of that this second guitar melody ends at each end with a chord. These chords get a higher volume so they get more attention. The baseline has much more power in them in this drop. Hereby added is a drum loop that follows the main guitar melody. Hereby added are some atmospheric sounds. All sounds which are used are self-designed.

All these aspects which are used in the track make the track a real Launch release. We are very happy to have a release together with Kye Lewis and DEAN who managed to blend both styles together in one track.
