Tattoos "Taster"

You could say that Lily V’s love affair with music started before she was born, going to AC/DC, Status Quo and Def Leppard concerts with her parents while she was still in her mother’s belly.

Later, sitting on her Dad’s shoulders and dancing at a Kiss concert at the tender age of 4, Lily was hooked – though it would be a steady diet of Rihanna, Lauren Hill and Mary J Blige that were to have the biggest impact on Lily in her formative years.

Having won her first Hip Hop dance competition at 11, Lily taught herself piano and started writing her own songs by the age of 12.

Uninspired at school while going through her typically angst-ridden teenage years, Lily buried herself in music, taking time out from her studies to travel up and down the NSW coast performing three- hour sets of covers and original songs at the Seabreeze Hotel in South West Rocks.

While her peers were busy cramming for the HSC, Lily spent her time (dodging school) on the road writing music and honing her craft in pursuit of an ARIA or Grammy.

Attracting the attention of Grammy award winning artist Chauncey Black of Blackstreet fame, Chauncey flew to Australia to record three songs with Lily.

Expecting to take three weeks to record, Lily nailed all three songs by the start of week two.

Fast track to 2015 and 17 year old Lily V has signed with Black’s Kings Cross Records label and recorded her debut album. Her first single ‘Tattoos’ is set for release on 27 March 2015 and she is signed on as main support for Blackstreet on their upcoming “Made In The 90’s” Australian tour in April 2015.
