This track started as a single bar of a previous work's melody, expanded into all you hear now. The beginning and end is for the hardcore clubbers and GLORIOUS tom lovers - the middle is breaks bordering IDM. 

Dark matter as a title is a play on a rather dark time of my life, my ability to use that darkness to fuel this track, and also a shout out to the "dark matter" that composes so much of our universe, from a physicists standpoint.

This is a remix of "The Unknown" by the talented musician Lunar. He gave this track up for a remix opportunity years ago, and I found the file buried in an old data disc early this year. I'd COMPLETELY forgotten about it (hence Rediscover in the title)!  I set out to mess around and have fun, but ended up with a VERY serious blend of 8-bit-ish synths and breaks. Not to say making this track wasn't enjoyable, though - probably my first track where the whole process actually was.

Exploring the Unknown (Richard Lee Rediscover)

I call this a redo instead of a remix because I went for a complete overhaul of the original. Southern Belle was a great accomplishment when I first made it, but there was a lot I didn't fully appreciate or know how to handle. Here's my new take - I tried to go in a whole new direction, yet keep enough of the original intact to keep one name between the two tracks. Check this out - check out the original, when I get it uploaded, to see how far I ran with it. :D

Southern Belle (Richard Lee Redo)

A smooth drum and bass track inspired by LTJ Bukem's immortal "Music", and oldschool Roni Size. There's a definite shift in energy as the track goes on, but it has a soothing feel all throughout.

Can you push yourself to the highest limit?

There's still a lot missing from this clip, but I wanted to give you all an idea of what I'm working on. This definitely has a radio edit sound - the next version I come out with will develop over a longer amount of time, have a driving rhythm to accompany the melody, and maybe some new percs too.

I made this track a couple years ago and realized maybe six months later that its composition and mastering needed work. I couldn't figure out how to fix it at the time, but I'm more confident in my abilities now. It's only a few spots that need work so a full-length update should be coming soon.

Although the gargoyle fixture can be given nearly any shape, the folktale of gargoyles acting as wards against evil spirits has always interested me. This track is my tribute to that.

After a year of thought, I've decided to back off of music as a profession. I simply don't have the time needed to devote to my tracks, and I don't know when that'll change. Whether or not I can return to this community, I'm making my tracks free to download. My way of thanking all you for your recognition and support. :) Just be sure to give credit if you remix them or use them in a set.
