She says "God gave her this name when she realized the significance and importance of the crown, to royal families, and their bloodline. Crowns are extremely symbolic in the sense that it signifies authority and sovereignty. Crowns also quite heavy and could not be worn without practice or poise. This headgear was decorated with detailed jewels and precious metals that drew attention. It also was guarded daily to ensure its safety. Within this project, there lies a hidden parallel between Christ and the Crown. KayLa believes that "Just as the crown was worn on the heads of those in power; we must, as children of the king, place Christ as "head of our lives!" We must not create him to be this "in-the-box," "lower-cased-g," god. We must decorate Him with splendor and allow Him to shine, as did the crowns decorated with jewels and precious metals.  And, with anything of importance and honor, there is a "weight" to the glory that rests on the one who answers the call. Claiming the crown is a privilege, you must be chosen! Kayla's daily prayer is that children of the King, meet the expectations of royalty and claim what is RIGHTFULLY theirs! Enjoy.

Here's a song about patience. I'm not always good with patience. Even the month-long wait from having finished this song to releasing it was a challenge for me! But I'm learning more and more to slow down. I'm usually thinking far in advance and trying to plan out the future, but God's word reminds us to take things day by day. To trust and depend on God, and be ok with not being in control. I remember doing a study last year, looking at 1 Corinthians 13 - "Love is patient, love is kind..." and realising that God IS love, and therefore everything that's true about love is true about God Himself. He is patient, He is kind. And I started to relate that to the way He loves us as individuals. God is patient with me. This truth really hit me.

I think somewhere deep down I felt that God had big plans for my life, and who I was created to be, and that I wasn't measuring up to that. That somehow I'm lagging behind or not fully walking in all that I was made for, and that God was disappointed or frustrated with me. Maybe you've felt the same way. But I came to realise that's a lie. God is patient with us. God is kind to us. He's ok with things taking a long time. He's ok with us not seeing the complete picture yet. He's ok with mistakes and set backs. And in many ways I think God is more concerned with the process than the finished result. We learn in the process. It's the place we draw close to God and learn to depend on Him. The process is where relationship develops. And so, I'm learning to slow down.
