Born into a hard life in The Sunshine State, Eric J Watts did what few people can find the strength to do: rise above his surroundings. Inspired by his own life, Watts began writing to express himself. When he was acknowledged for his writing, Watts realized that he had the power to turn his life around with just the pen in his hand and the words in his head. Seeing his mother struggle with the difficulties of raising a family without the help of a father figure, Watts gathered the motivation and dedication required to turn his talent into a key; A key to open up a door of opportunity. He began turning his writing into raps that he would relay to his friends, one of whom was Nicolai “SURplus” Luther, a member of ATP, who could take Watts’ raw, honest and put them to a beat. Watts soon developed a deep passion for creating something positive from the hardship, and he resolved to pursue a new dream of becoming a renowned rapper.
Watts knew that surrounding himself with people to challenge and inspire him would only help him to reach his goal. He began working with ATP Music Group and was soon asked to join. Every day, he dedicates himself to creating soul-driven street music that his fans can relate to. He works hard to bring a vision to each of his songs, a vision of greatness that he hopes to uplift and motivate his fans with. He wants them to see what he sees: That Any-Thing’s Possible if you work hard enough.
Watts is releasing his debut mixtape, Now or Never, in the summer of 2011.
