A sonic juxtaposition of East meets West coast sound melding together the two immensely influential coastal cities, OFFRIP is a 3-piece hip-hop crew with members from New York and Los Angeles. The group garnered a buzz during their time at university with college crowds and local audiences alike, throwing concerts at select venues and houses that featured an auspicious plethora of young artists from Louisiana. Developing a team of designers, creative directors, songwriters and photographers, the group carried out a gregarious mission statement focused on connecting local artists by way of eccentric underground showcases and house parties. Melding G-Funk era California rap with the galvanizing grit of East Coast boom bap, they combine lyrics that delve into themes of modern hedonism, self-reflection, stoic story-telling, and cheeky displays of meticulous rhyme patterns. Proving to be a double-edged sword of talent and industry knowledge paving a new route for the independent artist in an internet-driven world, OFFRIP is the newest underground digital hip-hop collective.
