Inspired from Romanian cultural heritage, be it film, dance or musical instruments, Folclor Abstract is a glance back to the roots in search of a meaningful future.

The first track is inspired from the soundtrack composed by Cornelia Tăutu for the Romanian historical adventure film "Buzduganul cu trei peceți" (1977). The film presents a politicized version of the events that led in 1600 to the unification of the three Romanian countries, in the aftermath of a victorious battle against the Ottoman invasion (Călugăreni, 1595). Dance your way through as the story unfolds.

Dans cu balans is the result of a personal fascination for the cimbalom, an instrument of high versatility, frequently used in the Romanian fiddle music. In contrast to orchestral performances, which adhere to the composer's notes to reproduce a work faithfully, fiddling is also open to improvisation and tends to produce rhythms that focus on dancing, with associated quick note changes.

Searching for inspiration within Romanian folklore, I found Ivan Braga who was on his own pursuit of cultural heritage, experimenting with a variety of traditional instruments and rhythms from different regions of the country. Doba lu' Braga is Ivan's modern take on Romanian drum patterns performed on a traditional Moldavian drum (dobă) with an uplifting twist and arrangement for the dancefloor experience.

Reverie is an expression of the creator's state of mind. Lost in thought, stolen by imagination, haunted by memories, liberated by dreams.

After two standout releases on "Optimo Music", Glasgow electronic four piece "The Junto Club" return with their debut EP on brand new label "Snap, Crackle & Pop", born out of the London club night of the same name. The A side features two slices of dance floor ready post-punk, throwing references from everything from Suicide to Weatherall. On the B-side, Khidja's remix teases out the disco groove before growing into a monstrous acid house inspired freakout, paving the way for the Ivan Smagghe & Cross version which delves even further into acidy motoric beats.

Exclusive Panorama Channel & Pletnev 'Blavatsky'

When two become one is the story of Russian based artist Panorama Channel and Lithuanian producer Pletnev who team of for Biologic Records' latest EP Blavatsky, which comes with three orginal takes and two remixes from Simple Symmetry and Yu Su. The title track of the EP, Blavatsky,namely goes back to Russian-American occultist Helena Petrovna Blavatsky, whose famous works The Secret Doctrine and Isis Unveiled have had a major influence on esoterism. Thus, the title track of the trio's first common EP takes its listeners on a theosophical trip as it combines a mid-tempo vibe with psychedelic soundscapes that hurry-scurry at various levels of the track and therefore refer to several human senses creating mental responses.

Panorama Channel & Pletnev's EP Blavatsky will be released on Biologic Records on February 21st, 2020.

Serenades Edit #16 - Gianni Safred & His Electronic Instruments - Electronic Brain (A-Tweed Edit)

Julian Fleker is an artist from Argentina, a friend from our origins in the underground of Buenos Aires. Ricardo Ruben's project starting from the name to the artistic side face and composition takes a humorous place, although his musical background is serious. Ricardo Ruben is a character from a song by the 80's rock group Los Twists that carried a share of acid humor. It is then that the name of this Ep is not surprising, nor the way to face a different compositional work, wanting to highlight an idiosyncrasy of personal and local search.
“Sinatra is not dead, Yabran told me” plays with black humor and a story of an Argentine media gate. Yabran was a businessman accused of mafias and corruption that ended in a suicide case where everyone doubted his true death as someones think with Sinatra too. Ricardo Ruben is a drummer and the track is a tremendous banger full of percussions, and acid arpeggios of 303 in staccato where a real drum solo joins playing on top by rolling fills. A song that gallops sideways and that is a traktor pushing pistons like crazy. Weird, jazzy, creepy and bizarre black humor, really irresistible.
“De la cabina a la parrilla” (From the booth to the grill) is another title that plays with the local humor, Ricardo Ruben talks about those Argentine meetings where everything walks around meat and barbecue, and the DJ booth can be set up next to the embers. Diving into that personal identity, his search for sound combines modulations that twist and shoot up and down, hi hats and rides that filter and deform, cowbells in front, gloomy melodies of outof-tune oscillators that give something of a grotesque circus and then come out in synth leads that carry us to an ecstatic trance.
“Sinatra is not dead, Yabran told me” first remix is in charge of Colossio. By slowing it down and adding dirty snares with more cadence, he adds a touch of gloomy sense of humor. Colossio gives it an atmosphere of party music in an abandoned amusement park. That tone of making death funny and filling of skeletons with colors that Mexicans have. Twisted synths simulate monstrous laughter, the modulated bells fill with mystery and intrigue but in the end it all resolves into a charming dance.
Alvaro Cabana and Silicondisco's second remix transform it into a dark bomb for dancefloors. Battery fills that are like whips, shake and sadomasochism. An immense almost techno kick where the acid modulations spill out, giving the track an erotic aesthetic, with a leather shine and a nighttime mood that transports us to a rotten club in Madrid where everything is attitude and exhibitionism.

“Sex Miami”. Let those words melt into your soul like creamy, creamy pink ice cream in on your tongue. This album by Deux Control is a smooth genre crossover paradise of 808s, Yamaha keyboards and deep mesmerizing vocals side by side with more hardcore synth elements found in bands like DAF or Nitzer Ebb.
Deux control’s sound is a mix your favorite soundtracks of electronic music with a large portion of body synth. It is sexy, cool, and a bit frightening. The music on “Sex Miami” is familiar and goes out to all listeners of all ages but especially to those in the French/Italian disco fandom out there. This is the kind of music an eighties international business traveller would listen when kicking back and clubbing after landing a fat new contract.
Deux control is the act that got bumped from the Miami Vice soundtrack last minute because being a bit too edgy for mainstream USA. They are the group that Giorgio Moroder tried to copy when he wanted to update his sound. Deux Control are the new rulers of psychedelic electric body-disco!

Offset (a.k.a Philippe Juven) begins his music experience with classical trumpet at the music academy, and took part in some crazy jazz/funk bands. 
Later on and parallel to his electronic engineering studies, he comes across electronic music thru some techno parties and 
finds a means of expression that classical music couldn't offer. His music, deep and hypnotic, is marked with techno, electro, 
funk and Detroit house (Carl Craig, Recloose) mixed with dark and cold influences (Dopplereffekt, Joy Division, Front 242…). 

After a lot of liveact gigs performed in his hometown, he decides to go ahead and focus on production.
The effectiveness and musicality of his tracks will soon be spotted by the label Missive Music on which he released two EPs, 
followed by another on the label Groovetronic Records and composed in the same time for bands. 

But first of all, Offset is a rare quality live performer, play’in the best clubs in Paris and across France. 
When he's behind his machines, Offset captivates your mind and transports you into his world. Then he invites you to sway your 
hips on a dance floor where you'll meet breaky rhymes and other ethereal melodies that will electrify your senses one by one.......

After a little pause in his carrier he walks his way with several Eps released on labels such as Fine Art Recording (London/UK), Correspondant (Koln, Germany), Days Of Being Wild (London/UK) and a new live act.
