Undveld - Ghastly Ordeal

Interface is for interaction. But for this episode, Skalm (@dans-market) has made a different kind of interaction and invited Utrecht-based Luke Cohlen (@lukecohlen) to create his version of interface. Moved by his multiform yet consistent sound as well as his experimental record label – aural conduct – she found connection through their shared philosophies of interfacing between contrasts, or as Luke aptly describes “music evoking dualities.” Tune in for an hour of concentrated exploration.

aural conduct is a record label focusing on music that emphasises process and detail and provides an open, experimental platform to artists. It channels music evoking dualities: zeitgeist and timelessness, melancholia and optimism. Poetics, through sound. The name aims to imply and serve as a reminder that music is a form of exchange that can channel sincere and emotive complexity, beyond language.

The host: Skalm
Skalm, the Prague-based DJ and selector, is one half of the Dans Market duo and a resident of the Infame radio's Interface show. Her sets are characterized by a moody yet hypnotic soundscape, blending whatever-she-feels like elements to create raw and metallic audio experiences. Skalm will (not) leave you calm.

Interface 7 w/ Luke Cohlen

Tokyo-based Joe Fujinoki takes on occasional environmental synthesis for Amulet of Tears, molded by exogenous malfunction.

Aberrant oscillating sounds are unclasped in surrounding field, orchestrating the quivering modulations. Sitting round in emitting diodes whilst the moment subjectively dials to the noise of sobering pith - an anchor phrase consisting of coarse sounds unruffled in placid dim.

ǝɯǝɐ is the musical exploring project of the musician from island of Mallorca (Balearic Islands), Miquel Alzanillas. 

His deep interest in technology and avant-garde music inspired him to start producing and DJing at a young age. Since then, he has collaborated on various interdisciplinary projects, both in live performances and sound installations as well as in sound design for audiovisual projects. Currently, he combines ǝɯǝɐ project with designing and developing code for various Python applications.

Since his last release in 2019, he has been working on various audiovisual projects, both in sound design for advertising campaigns and scoring for a feature film.

Now, with his second album, ǝɯǝɐ is set to push his own limits even further, seeking a more digital and processed sound through landscapes that evoke science fiction in a dystopian future.
