End of summer, people and the air are hot, a club, sweat dripping from the ceiling and Zach's meticulous og work on the beats making people sweat more. Usually I'd still sip on my drink but this would make my lazy ass move. Imagining all this on a trainride from Berlin to my hometown. Maybe I should've taken half the trip. That's all folks.

Journeying from Brighton to Bristol and now residing in London, Syz (Oli Samways) has an impressive back catalogue of sounds and is here to take over Tapes #59. With releases on Method Lab and Pressure Dome, a sell-out EP on Control Freak Recordings, a single track release on Shanti Celeste and Gramrcy’s esteemed Peach Discs, and more. It’s no surprise that he’s an artist that has rightfully earned respect and support of many revered artists including Mary Anne Hobbs, Pearson Sound, Danielle, Zenker Brothers & Peverelist to name a few.

A grey cloud might still be hanging over London but we have Monday off and that's a cause for celebration. Thankfully we've drafted East London DJ ohmydais in for this series at just the right time, because she's come correct with a punchy, pacy mix to set your long weekend off on the right note...

A lover of percussive and bass heavy club cuts, you can find Daisy flipping between a host of different sounds, but they're always fast and furious, usually floating between the 140-160bpm mark.

When she's not playing solo, she's DJing as part of the Team Woibey collective alongside fellow shellers Ell Murphy, FAE and Mixtress, who together host a monthly show on Rinse FM, formerly on Foundation FM.

ohmydais: The 'Shine A Light On' Mix

Following his EP Mind Express on United Identities and Skipman 1998 on Who’s Susan, both released in 2021, the aesthetic of Thrills in +41 continues to evolve. Melding freaky electro, wonky bass and pacey techno, Thrills in +41 creates tension and unusual textures throughout his music. Expect eccentric sounds, suitable for both peak-time and curveball moments in a club setting.

Right before the release of his 'PRIMAL X 01' EP on United Identities' PRIMAL series – which releases music exclusively from Thrills – Lucas Tromer steps up for a one hour venture in the Rhythmic Culture podcast. othrwrld's mix, meant to showcase a range of genres and sounds to be encountered at Club Liminal, opens with murky swirling relaxed rhythms, eventually dissolving into a long spellbinding climb through hypno techno towards spacious, speedy, pumping trance, finally landing back in the arms of soft pads.

"It was a realllllly long winter for myriad reasons and so i thought it would be fun and rejuvenating to mark time and celebrate spring finally arriving (late imho!). i wanted to create something light and airy - in direct opposition to the feelings i was having over the winter. imagining flowers and trees budding, the smell of green grass, chirping birds, longer days, people on the street and in cafes and..sunshine! not a super novel concept, but it was fun to put it all together with these things in mind."
