One year ago, on August 9, 2020, after the last presidential elections in the Republic of Belarus, the largest nationwide anti-government protests in the history of Belarus started.
People detained during the protests were taken to various institutions in the country, including the temporary detention center in Minsk, located on the 1st lane of Okrestsina Street.
“Okrestsina” became a household name, as well as the expression “to get to Okrestsina”, which means being detained or simply going to jail. The term named after the place of detention has become a symbol of torture of civilians who disagree with election fraud, protesters in Belarus (2020-2021).

On the occasion of the first anniversary of the Belarusian protests, a live version of the composition from the upcoming album, recorded on 6 March 2021, is being published.

Recorded under the impression of the events that took place in early January 2022 in Kazakhstan, which later became known as "Bloody January".

The protests, which began in the gas producing city of Zhanaozen in connection with the increase in prices for liquefied gas, soon spread to other cities. In Almaty, the protests turned into violent riots, and the authorities lost control of the city. A state of emergency was declared in Kazakhstan, and CSTO troops were sent to the country.

As a result, Kazakhstan government was resigned, and the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, lost his position as leader of the ruling Nur Otan party.

Ten years before these events, during Nazarbayev's fourth term as president, Zhanaozen had already become the center of protest activity: in December 2011, a months-long mass strike by workers from the Ozenmunaigaz oil and gas company turned into unrest in the city of Zhanaozen during the celebration of the 20th anniversary of independence Kazakhstan.
The police were firing on protesters, resulting in dozens of deaths, hundreds were injured and arrested, 37 people were found guilty on charges of participating in the riots.
