Images on cellulose nitrate are in an intermediate state. Life is an intermediate state. Yet not all transitions are degradations or a return to non-existence.

The transition of these films from cellulose to dust was interrupted. A small part of the people in these films exist in a new form, another intermediate state.

Every act of creation results in a liminal state which briefly halts the return of everything that we are to dust and forgotten memories.

The sooner you stop creating the sooner you will be forgotten. Stay liminal.
