Ain’t nothing brighter than the sun, ain’t nothing hotter than this: Ogris Debris are back in full force, with a shiny new single set for release on 21st of June - what better time to release a summer anthem than the longest day of the year? "Brighter" has summer written all over it, energy levels are high and temperatures are rising, the funk is upon us and so is the O.D. magic. A blazing hot beast of a tune, "Brighter" kicks straight into life with some real sassy lead guitar funking its way through the track and catchy vocals shining bright on top, radiating an air of supreme heat. This one’s an ode to the sun, a hymn of heliocentrism - put your shades on, don’t forget about the sunscreen too, summer is here and this is what it sounds like. 

The single also marks the first release on the band’s very own label Odeon Tweaks, an additional outlet for their music. A theater for tweaks, a modern kind of Odeon to stage everything from funked up dancefloor fillers and synth-driven gnarly stompers to atmospheric rollers, bouncy beat excursions and intoxicating vocal tracks. An imaginative building, an open house for ideas and influences from jazz to rock, from funk to broken beats, from electro to techno. An ode on tweaks, the O, the D, it's on!

It’s like I’m running around, when you go. A subtle shift, a flip of perspective – something’s missing, the world is off the rails. Scraps of conversations speeding by, bleepy sounds coming out of an arcade somewhere, a hypnotic percussion groove leading the way through the chaos. When everything’s in constant motion, nothing is what it seems.

An unexpected break, confusion and disorientation are mellowing out and the sky is clearing up. When the sun hits my face it’s somehow brighter than I expected. Without stopping, I wonder for a second if it’s setting or rising. Who knows. Who cares. There’s so much to see. You go, and I’m just running around.

Ogris Debris are one of Austria’s most acclaimed electronic music acts and their energetic live shows have already inspired audiences in clubs from Tokyo to Paris, London and Moscow. They receive regular airplay on radio stations across Europe like Radio FM4 or BBC Radio (Gilles Peterson) and are featured in magazines like Dummy or Groove. With their first success “Miezekatze“ they were able to land a trans-european timeless club hit.

Since forming in 2007, Ogris Debris have released a bunch of 12“ singles and EPs on their homebase Affine Records, worked together with the Round Table Knights and the guys delivered uplifting reworks for UK House maestro Joey Negro, Brownswood Recordings´ Zara McFarlane, Richard Dorfmeister´s Tosca plus the epic rework for labelmate Dorian Concept which received proper awareness beyond genre-affiliations.

The Vienna based electronic music duo is never at a loss for catchy melodies embedded in formidable harmonic structures and very individual sounddesign to form a precise and idiosyncratic language. Among their most unique features are the inventive use of voices, sampling and synthesis. They enmesh the listeners with hooklines and clever yet poetic lyrics, all the while tearing down the dancefloor with muscular and elaborate beats.
