The west coast of Australia has a 30 year legacy of producing world class indie rock, with no shortage of amazing bands stepping up to earn their place among the greats. With this lineage running through their veins, Oh White Mare have produced an epically catchy, riff-filled indie gem in Goodnight and Goodbye.

Harking back to the days when alternative radio was the oracle of quintessential music, Goodnight and Goodbye has every component it needs to set airwaves ablaze. Produced by Andy Lawson (a formidable indie gunslinger in his own right), Goodnight and Goodbye is packed with impeccable hooks from start to finish. Singer Ross Wood's soaring melodies are perfectly espoused to his lyrics of romantic foreboding, carried by the kind of thick, fuzzed-out guitars that are indie rock's indelible signature.
Paying close attention to structure and flow, Oh White Mare have pushed their own boundaries to make Goodnight and Goodbye more than just a pop song. Within its fabric is a luscious soundscape filled with exciting passages, movements and bridges that give it both life and transcendence. It is indie rock, no question, but it is a smarter, more provocative breed that utilises everything from guitar work worthy of a Bond theme, to the grandeur and climax of an unfettered crescendo.

Returning after a spiritual and musical hiatus, Oh White Mare are more focused and driven than ever. Their previous work All The Modern Lovers (2017) feels like the important foreword to Goodnight and Goodbye, which is undoubtedly the beginning of an exciting new opus. Establishing a vivid colour palette with their 2016 debut Outsiders, Oh White Mare are on the same path that initially propelled them into the upper echelons of Perth music, they are just hitting the ground with stronger legs and an unshakable conviction.

Unpretentiously created, yet thoughtfully refined, Goodnight and Goodbye is the nexus between where Oh White Mare have been, and where they are going.
