For our eighth release, we are glad to welcome back our dear friend Vardae for a second EP on the label. His first output on 2019 had been received really well, so he decides to took the things further with this new one, presenting a more textural techno approach while keeping his own signature of raw and minimalist precise techno.

This EP was mainly inspired by paintings of Pierre Soulage called “composition de rouge et de noir”. What we feel when listening to the release is the continuity between the tracks, especially the first three. We could consider them as different layers of the same composition. They feature the key elements of what we want to promote with the label, cycling alien atmospheres, granular textures and raw beats with a clearly identified sci-fi touch. The last track shows us a different sound palette from Vardae with a more melodic approach, dominated by gentle pads but still keeping some voices atmospheres in the background.

This new edition to celebrate the five years of Fill-Lex Records comes with a double edition, it will be the fifth vinyl of the label and its 18th reference on cassette. This time we have Asymmetrical (Giovanni Inglese) owner of our idolized label Raw Culture. An edition that in its vinyl format will have remixes of Sam de la Rosa and Anna Funk Damage, and for the cassette version will be added the remixes of SOJ and Lex-Or.

A concept album that does not leave behind its track-focused side. In its side A we find visceral songs, with broken rhythms, and forceful percussions, with a spectacular treatment of distorted voices, full of strength and power.

On the B side of the album we enter tracks more focused on the dance floor, with that punk attitude, which makes you immerse yourself in their decadent melodies,

It’s been four years since my last own EP on Stockholm LTD.
The main reason for this is that I have been surrounded by music that has inspired
me much more than my own.

This EP was written and produced with strict narrow frames and a huge amount
of frustration. I was tired of waiting for the inspiration to kick in, then suddenly it
appeared with a strength that I haven’t felt for long time. I’m now curious for more.

While sketching the title track, ’Wyatt Arp’, I couldn’t get Detroit legend, Terrence
Dixon, out of my mind. Terrence is a long time hero of mine, and an artist that always
stays on the true side of what we do while most of us occasionally leave our paths.
