Ohly is a Detroit act getting ready to release an album in the springtime. He draws a lot of those soothing, super-melodic Americana-folk vibes from the Head and the Heart and The Avett Brothers, with lots of inflection on his voice, some careful vibrato, and a lot of heart-on-the-sleeve lyrics that are sung in a voice that’s tender, but also a softly booming baritone. In 2017, Ohly released their heartfelt six-song self-titled and included an emotionally-charged, introspective package of musical tales focused on relationships, loss and growth. You'll hear interesting touches (like the banjo), but it's the delicate, and emotional, vocal layers that enamor the listener.
