Strike A Jive is a LA based DJ duo comprised of LuckyStrike (@noahcameron__) and Jive (@rafolmao). The Season 13 graduates of Academy of DJs first debuted as a duo with a Soundcloud mix in July 2023, showcasing their ability to blend different genres. With the praise and success of their mix, LuckyStrike and Jive set out to create a new day party in LA. After selling out their first two day parties, Strike A Jive looks to continue their journey with the intention of standing out from the rest and continuing to offer fresh new ideas to their art. They credit SoulCtrl as a huge inspiration to their take on DJing and wanted to provide the SoulCtrl family a mix that will have everyone dancing!

Earlier this year I entered a contest to play at an event called Les Play House in celebration of their 5th anniversary. I had a lot of friends play this event so I threw my hat in the ring. Funny thing is, I’m not a working DJ. I’m a hobbyist that supports a lot of my working DJ friends. Despite this, I won a slot to rock in the opening hours.

Amal, known as Emelle, is a DJ, music curator, and event producer based out of Oakland, California. With music at the center of her work and creations, Emelle’s multifaceted sound, inspired by her Egyptian roots and the diversity of her lifelong home the Bay Area, holds no genre boundary. From R&B to future beats, soul to world, house to hip-hop, and everything in between - Emelle’s work holds a common thread of building feeling, connection, and community.

Emelle’s distinct musical repertoire has brought her into spaces encompassing all kinds of genres - working with and alongside artists like Teedra Moses, Cam’ron, Coco and Breezy, Nina Sky, Maliibu Miitch, Mark de Clive-Lowe, and Jon B. She’s also graced stages at prominent music events such as No Nazar, Les Play House, Motown on Mondays, Soulovely, Sazon Libre, Cuffin’ All Thangs R&B, and Love Supreme. Emelle is also the mind behind 'Butter', a dance party based in Oakland, California, an active member of the artist collective, Morevibes, and holds a monthly residency with Fault Radio called 'Emelle's World'.

Emelle continues to leave her mark through music and her skill and centering of connection through sound.
