Glitch (Forward Progress)

Mischievous and cute. This is a film cue I wrote for my demo reel. Mixing is still a work in progress.

White Rabbit

	When I began to formulate ideas for this piece spring was just upon us and I began to think about life back home in Connecticut. In the warmer months I used to ride my horse, Romeo outside in the back of the barn. There was a wide-open field covered in lush grass and wildflowers, and surrounded by tall trees. You could gallop from one end to the other and at the very edge of the field through a small thicket of trees you could ride or walk along the banks of the Farmington River. I wanted to convey as much as possible a feeling of awe and wonder at being completely surrounded by nature at its utmost beauty. At the same time I wanted the tempo to reflect the various gates of my horse, at a walk, trot, canter and gallop. I also wanted at times to achieve an effect likened to flowing water, which is perpetuated in the bass part as well as some of the eighth and sixteenth note flourishes in the treble part. Originally I wanted to add some other instruments but eventually I thought that the piece should function much like nature itself, very simple without any additions.
