In the early days of my self discovery, I was ravenousI would eat until I was sick. I would chew and swallow, no regard for the mess I left behind. I left bodies beneath the bed. They say it is an eat or be eaten world. Perhaps I did both, allowing myself to be consumed by men, a knowing lamb lead to her slaughter. Is it murder if she loves the pain? In moments of self reflection, I saw my power, and found myself unable to control the gifts I had been given. Oh to know what I know now, how I would offer such sweetness.

When I was a child, I was told that my love would never come. People like you are cursed to unhappiness and pain, they would say. Eager for love, for guidance, I swallowed their words whole. As I began to bloom, the newness and wonder and pleasures of the world ever so tempting, I often heard their words in my mind. My First Temptation brought me fear, but ultimately it brought me closer to myself. How could I ever close my eyes again?
