This beat was produced in August 2023 for Indigenous day on Kwaku Summer Festival Amsterdam 

This beat is an ode to Hercus van der Bosch from the Surinamese Indigenous band Pawana. 

Pawana is the oldest Surinamese indigenous band in the Netherlands and Hercus van der Bosch/Tunakajare was at the origin of this pioneering work. Uncle Hercus passed away on the 22nd on of October 2023. 

I literally grew up with this band and they had a huge influence on my musical rhythmic intelligence.

Oompie Hercus is a legend that will always carry on within the heart and sound of the Surinamese Indigenous community.
