We first met Vouiz and Noyo at the early hours of a cold April morning, wrapped up in hot clothes, expresso (martini) in hand, getting ready to play the first set of the day on the outside stage of Atipik’s Intergalamactik. And what a set! despite the cold weather they warmed up everybody’s mind, body & soul.

These two have been operating as IZ/YO for the last 4 years. Influenced by all the different sub-genres of house, electro and breakbeats their music explores various horizons, creating a unique atmosphere with one idea in mind : the groove !

Here's another home-recorded mix. This one's on a darker note. I tried to recreate a small club room atmosphere using recent vinyl finds and a couple of records from deep within my collection.

Podcast 005 - Lyo

Today we launch a mix series that has been in our heads for many years. What a better way to do so than with a friend who holds a special place in our hearts : International Mac.

Mac is a rare kind of DJ whose style never stopped to evolve and to explore, while always remaining true to himself. He is a touching, sensitive, generous, quirky soul who always pours his personality, his intelligence and his feelings into the music. Our existences are bound up to his, being at the core of a group of friends who welcomed us both in Berlin at pivotal moments of our lives. Since then, these people and this city have continually inspired us, helping us to find ourselves and thus, contributed to the very essence of tunnel.

The story behind this mix also has a full-circle feeling to it, as it came together in the most natural way, encapsulating a moment in time that holds significance for all of us. It was recorded spontaneously, in one take, last week-end in the infamous shared flat of Krausnickstraße. This happened after a session in which Mac played alone all day, while a few friends were sharing a nice time. His record bag was full of new finds from a recent dig in London as well as old re-discoveries from his own collection. His head and heart were charged with the emotions, the memories and the sonic impressions of his recent experiences, after a tumultuous year full of changes and personal growth. At the end of the day, when everybody left the room, we decided to start recording, feeling that something was about to happen…

Occasionally, Mac wears his signature purple velvet trousers and reveals the weirdo wizard facet of his personality. Here, Purple Mac is taking us on a journey : hypnotic, mysterious, emotional, slightly epic but also sometimes stuck in this stationary state of hypnosis. There is also a sense of madness and absurd that emanates throughout the trip. The atmosphere is sometimes contemplative, sometimes ecstatic, sometimes cheeky, others crazy, all of those moments balanced with a feeling of flow that translates a certain state of maturity…

From the timing in Mac’s personal life, to the moment in our friendships, and to the music selection itself, there is a mystical sense of evidence that runs behind this mix, which is probably what makes it such a special one for us.

Thanks to Mac for sharing a piece of himself in the shape of this hypnotic tunnel. We’re already obsessed by it and we hope you will be too!

Ojoo are intimate gatherings with dedicated DJ's playing whatever they like for a crowd where everyone can feel welcome.  A series of events bringing forward-thinking underground electronic music with a sincere passion for vinyl . We need our music to be challenging and innovative and hold a high appreciation for artistic individuality (as opposed to hypes or trends) with the utmost respect for the veteran artists who over the years continuously maintain a standard that we greatly appreciate. We need a connection between artist and dancer, so the small and intimate venues is where you will find us.

RECORD LABEL
The idea of creating a platform that supports artists we stand for would not be complete without an opportunity to share their music with the world. To offer this, we started with the record label to release music that we believe should be heard and shared for people to enjoy, clubbers to dance and DJ's to play. 

The passion for the original craft of spinning tunes, that certain pleasure in the effort when playing and a love for the classic physical format has led us to release on vinyl only.

In the summer of 2019 our first EP ‘Club Rotation’ by ‘Session 4000’ was released. The second one in October 2019 by ‘Gols’. His first EP is appropriately titled ‘Delay is Okay’ referring to the time it took before opting to release one of his productions.
