Some say he’s from San Francisco, but he’s really from outerspace.  Bleep Bloop (a/k/a Aaron Triggs) whose music caught the ear of DJ Shadow, then very quickly became the first signee to the former’s new Liquid Amber label and dropped his 10 Watt Lazers EP last month, sends us sounds from the interstellar for this Mixtape Mondays afternoon with his contribution to Okayfuture’s exclusive mix series, #008.

This highly creative, heavy bass and grime concoction features some unreleased originals and collabs of Bleep Bloop’s own alongside tracks from Eprom, Mr. Oizo, the late, great DJ Rashad, Terror Danjah, Flying Lotus, the late, great Mac Dre and more.  A personal favorite on this mix is the “slowed and lowed” version of UGK‘s “The Game Belongs To Me.”

X&G are two entities creating some of the most monstrous sounds in the west coast. Each song builds up into a wall of sound and then crashes into what sounds like caverns crumbling into a cataclysmic abyss. Though they take on a minimal approach, don’t let them fool you. After a year of combined efforts, they have a release on one of the biggest labels in modern dance music: Owsla. Apart from that, they have self-released two incredible, yet polar opposite collections of work, and have a well displayed EP via Trapdoor Records. Each release ranges from a mixture of intricate and melodious ballads, to thunderous and heart racing climaxes of sound. X&G are a powerful force, and it won’t be any surprise to see them reaching great distances in 2017
