RaveAlarm - Never Survive

Seanni's Late Night Fantasy Diner is a conceptual piece intended to replicate the experience of sitting by yourself and alone with your thoughts as the overhead radio plays a mix of vibey, chill, and moody video game soundtrack music from a fictitious radio station called “Fantasy Diner Radio.”
This is something I began mulling over shortly before my father passed away. I explained to him this conceptual radio DJ mix and he thought it was a really cool idea, so it only felt appropriate to follow through with this project. He was always very supportive of and interested by my creative endeavors. So, in turn, this release is dedicated to my late father, George Barry. I'm sure he would have liked it and I miss him every day.

Seanni's Late Night Fantasy Diner

One of my most personal mixes. For this one I really tried to go outside the box conceptually - who would have thought to do a fantasy role-playing themed drum and bass mix? Having been a life long Dungeons and Dragons fan, I thought it would be cool to basically let everyone know that I was into role-playing games. And for the intro I was able to lock down the voice of Optimus Prime himself Peter Cullen! During the recording process I was patched into his headphones when he was in the studio and was even able to direct him. It wasn't until later that I discovered he had voiced the character of Venger on the 80's cartoon series Dungeons and Dragons. Awesome! The artwork was once again handled by the legendary Akira Takahashi. One of the coolest parts of the art is the reoccurring image of a dragon which is an exact copy of the dragon tattoo on my back. I always thought Akira was very clever to incorporate that image so deeply throughout the design. Though you cannot see it here, I spent a lot of time working on the liner notes so that they kind of read like stuff you would find in Dungeons and Dragons rulebooks. One of the coolest things about this project was being able to get remixes made of popular non-dnb artists like Tiësto, Sasha, Josh Wink and BT. It really sort of pushed this thing over the top at the time. Finally there is something that needs to be said about one of the tracks on here. The Paul B + Subwave remix isn't of the Tiësto tune "Flight 643". It is a remix of his track "Lethal Industry". I can't remember why this happened in the first place, but there you go! Enjoy :)

The Dungeonmaster's Guide

This track got a major overhaul a few years ago, for anyone who has followed me for a long time and remember earlier incarnations of this track :)

I simplified the way i had arranged some of the synths (you wont notice the difference, but its much clearer and not so much going on that i had to deal with on the balancing end), redid the sub bass and added another layer to the main synth to balance it out better.  rearranged the intro, so that part is quite different now, and much more dj friendly.

the whole length is dj friendly now.  when i had put in a proper length intro, the song was running just short of 9 minutes!!

so i made some much needed cuts, redid the beginning, and im actually much happier with it!  i kept the vocal bit at the end that just makes for an epic finish, but trimmed that down (however, very transparently did so), a few other little tweaks, etc.  oh!  completely rebuilt my breaks loops with some better samples.  i was never happy with how the breakbeat snare and what not sounded before, and since then have bought some nice sample packs that have greatly improved my arsenal.

so i did my best, and then sent it off to Jon Doe from CLSM for mastering.........

And it's complete. :D  I spent a ton of time on this song.  i feel its one of my most creative songs still to date.  its... just.... eh, im not even sure what other words to put in to this other than im happy as hell, happy to have it be the epic, dark, powerful track it is, and with the badass mastering, be able to carry that out in the way I had originally hoped. 

For anyone that might want this info, I think the track bpm is 167. Yeah, I'm weird. :P

Wicked! 'Ive been making music since i was a teenager, and finally around 2003 i switched to making dj-oriented tracks (right around when i started learning to dj). 
I love anything in the broad realm of hardcore, but i tend to make tracks that are just utter cheese, or kinda on the darker side, and have a soft spot for breakbeat hardcore!
