Producer Okito was born and raised in Toronto, Canada.  The child of Guyanese immigrants, whose passions included calypso and poetry, he grew to develop a musical intuition.  His appreciation grew as he was raised on sounds such as Bob Marley, Nat King Cole, James Brown, Mahalia Jackson, The Beatles, and even ABBA.  Formally trained in brass instruments at a young age, Okito knew music was his passion and it could not be stifled.
